If you are or not a ric flair fan I would say read this book. His been around for years, so you get to see how wrestling was back in 70s 80s 90s 2000s. So your really get to see how wrestling changed, and he is one of the best wrestlers and talkers there will ever be. His had a pretty crazy child hood and young life and he goes into great detail. Heres just an example of one thing, i never knew he was stolen from his birth parents and adopted. that should be enough to get you to read this.

I am a 32 year old female who has been in love with Ric Flair since I was 7! No lie on that one at all. Next to my kids and husband i say he is the love of my life. I was lucky enough to meet him at the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas back in 1996. I was there to watch him perform in Halloween Havoc but was lucky enough to see him in the casino just walking alone. He was so kind and such a gentleman...he allowed me to follow him all the way to his suite elevator. I was only 20 years old and just rambling on and on about how much I love him. He listened graciously and gave me a hug at the end. It was an out of body experience. It was awesome..something I will never forget. I got this book recently and finished it in two days! It is such a great book/biography. It is entertaining and fascintating at the same time. I recommend this book to all wrestling fans...especially those who were fans back in wrestling's hey days. The 1980's and 90's. Back when wrestling was wrestling....back when Ric Flair went 60 minutes almost every match...and almost always was victorious! Woooooo! Ric Flair truly is "THE MAN"!!!

If you are interested in reading a book by a wrestler, this is the one to read. I have read Hogan's and Dusty Rhode's as well as several others, but this book is by far the most realistic, seemingly true account of 1980's wrestling. For as much as Flair has accomplished in the wrestling world, he would have every right to talk about how he built the business and he is larger than the business. He does not though, which makes this book so much more enjoyable.

Its a big dissapointment. Basically it starts fast, but he really doesn't talk about what you want to hear. he just goes on and on about jacking off on the road with harley and dusty instead of taking care of his then young family. He wants 2 be respected 4 this and in turn i lost respect for walking out on his family. late in the book he starts talking bout backstage politics but u can sense he doesnt even scratch the surface. he blasts jarret, steiner, sid, foley, hart, sometimes dusty and raves about ricky the dragon and ricky morton. did i hear that right ric? he fights with bischoff and gets offered a wwe contract u know he took because of his financial peril. end of story. very dissapointing

I grew up watching Ric Flair "wrestle" on Saturday mornings, back when wrestling wasn't glitzy and glamourous like it is today. I didn't know he'd written his memoirs and the book literally jumped out at me while I was browsing through the library shelves. Having seen the movie "The Wrestler" and being highly interested in what the Nature Boy had to say, of course I checked this out.

I don't really know what I expected from this offering, but after the first few chapters, my interest waned. As Flair recounts match after match after match, it became rather boring after a while. Flair portrays himself as humble and conciliatory, but at some point you just want the man to stand up for himself and command the respect and compensation he deserves. I did appreciate the fact that he dropped several names that I'd remembered watching back in the day (Ricky Steamboat, Roddy Piper, Greg Valentine, Wahoo McDaniel, Dusty Rhodes) which prompted me to do wiki searches.

If you're a Flair fan or wrestling fan, you'll probably love this book. While I didn't love it, it was worth the read.
