I had this CD once before and it was scratched in my motorcycle saddlebag. Glad to get the replacement and what a way to travel on a motorcycle by listening to gospel songs.

This Cd is awesome I've had it for quite some time. Shenandoah does one of my fav versions of Beulah Land. A blessing everytime I listen to it......STILL!

I honestly don't understand why anyone would want to hear "Amazing Grace" any other way but slow. Lari White sings it beautifully, with reverence. That's the way most of these tracks are. The females are the highlight. Lari White, Martina McBride, Susan Ashton, Allison Krause, and of course Emmylou. The production values are better than you can find on any country gospel album. I think Martina McBride's "How Great Thou Art" is being played on loudspeaker at the pearly gates for eternity. I'm not overly religious or emotional, but this album sooths my soul and brings a tear to my eye.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! This TRADITIONAL version of these timeless classics really brings back the memories. What wonderful rendtions performed with the original scores and at a worshipful and appreciative tempo. This is not a youthful exciting version of the classics, this is the GOOD STUFF! The way I remember them, you can hear the sincereity and praise in the artists voices! This is a vocal and spiritual homecoming.

I bought Volume 2 first, and liked it so much, I bought volume 1, but given the choice, I'd pick volume 2. This CD does have a much slower pace, but every song is quite lovely. You can't beat John Berry's "Blessed Assurance". A good choice if these are some of your favorite songs.

Great set of songs, poorly sung. Very slow. I wonder if the artists who sung on this CD want you to hear what they recorded? It certainly is not them at their best.

I got this CD for Christmas after hoping for it for months. What a dissapointment! The tempo on this whole CD is really slow - it is draggy and depressing. Instead of upbeat and inspiring renditions of my favorite gospel songs, I got a too slow, morse recording. Where is the joy of praising God in these recordings? This CD is more like a funeral dirge than a joyful noise. I am very sad - such great artists, so much talent, but the songs just aren't very good.

There's a myth of sorts that says that if you're a Christian you have to buy gospel music, and vice-versa. I didn't buy this because of any religious or gospel reason; I bought it because I liked the artists. Going by that standard, it was very much predictable -- solid artists = solid songs. The one standout here is Martina McBride -- when she sings "How Great Thou Art," you feel as though God himself commissioned the recording. She is truly that spectacular. The rest of the disc is pleasant and charming.
