If you are a fiend who has heard enough of the Danzig-era Misfits to get hooked, this set is about all you need, giving you nearly their entire catalog at a good discount over buying it separately, especially considering the new $44 price here on amazon. The rights to the excellent 'Walk Among Us' are owned by Warner Bros through a freak accident, so you'll have to buy that separately to have everything. The production quality ranges from very good to half-way decent, but is fine overall. You might look at the track listing and see a number of redundancies, e.g. 'Who Killed Marilyn' and 'Violent World' appearing 3 times each, but they are (mostly) noticeably different versions. You will also receive a fiend club pin to wear on the lapel of your suit when you go for that job interview, and a booklet stuffed with lyrics to every track on the set, as well as some good pictures, cool artwork and an abridged band history. If you are starting out as a fiend, skip everything else and start here, as you'll inevitably want all of their stuff anyway!

I highly recommend buying this box set for too many reasons to list. It's got all the stuff you need and even a discription of the band. All the songs are by Glenn. You also get a cool badge. BUY IT NOW

you don't really need the boxset if you have all their work, different versions of songs,cds, and 1 song (I dont have the record) Spook city usa you might have not heard of.

The way I see it if you wanna build a Misfits collection either as a newbie to the band or as someone (like me) looking to replace the old cassettes, The best thing you can do is buy Walk Among Us and The Box Set and then if you want the "In the Doorway" single that was sneakily put onto the Static Age cd (sold AFTER the box set) just pay .99 cents to download it off the internet.
This will get you most of the essential Misfits material, and then, if you want, you can start trying to track down all the rare vinyl etc.
Yes, The Box Set is pricy but even if you pay $60 for it, it is still much cheaper than buying all the individual cd's PLUS if you want the rare outtakes etc. you will only find them here.

A Message to the Newbie: Make sure you buy Walk Among Us too...It's one of the best Misfits albums!!!

Another message to the Newbie: Don't waste your money on any of the post Danzig Mifits...it's really not the Misfits

If you are a real big fan of the best horror punk band ever you must got this box. The box has the coolest design i've ever seen, and the four cds provide a wide view of Misfits music. You get all the classics, "Last Caress", "Night of the Living Dead", "Where Eagles Dare", "Horror Business" and so on. The book is not that good, with few pictures, but at least, with all the lyrics of the cd's. It's an expensive item, but the Misfits fan's we'll be happy with the material.
