It was a purchase to encourage my granddaughter to read. She enjoyed the books even though she had a set. These were newer and had prettier covers, she said.

After seeing what pathetic shape my original British boxed set of Narnia books was in (I've had them 34 years) I decided I needed a new boxed set but I wanted them to have the same covers as my original one. Was I ever thrilled to find this absolutely beautiful set with the covers I wanted! Even better, all the illustrations inside have also been colorized by the original artist for this edition. My only complaint is that the books are packed in so tightly that I've already torn the outer box! Be very careful and enjoy every moment. The paper these are printed on is heavier and much nicer than my originals.

The Chronicles of Narnia - enjoyable reading for those snowy or rainy days when you have some extra time on your hands. A literary classic from C.S. Lewis, a well-known, prolific writer from Oxford, and a contemporary of J.R.R. Tolkein. This is a seven-volume set of entertaining fictional tales that shadow the real world. Join the Pevensie children as they are magically pulled from their World War II safe home in the English countryside into the world of Narnia and other kingdoms and encounter many adventures. Recommended reading for all ages! Read other titles by C.S. Lewis as well.
"Excellent reading of an excellent series!"

Each book is unabridged and read by a different reader. This is a bit odd, as the character's voices change from book to book. However, all of the readers are excellent!
This is a delightful series and should be read in the original order: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe; Prince Caspian; Voyage of the Dawn Treader; Silver Chair; Horse and his boy; Magician's Nephew (Chronilogically first but should be read later); Last Battle.
"Great series for children and adults."

I read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe when I was a child. I did not realize there was a complete series of books until many years later. My children read the books and told me how good they all were so I read the complete series as an adult. The books are excellent reading for children or adults.
