I really like this book, it's one of the more fun books for me to read to my 12 month old. I love that it is a board book so she can't rip it apart as easily. I did however, think it would be a bit bigger in size as there are a lot of pictures on each page. It seems hard for baby to pay attention to, almost overwhelming it seems. She still into books with more simple pictures to look at. I'm guessing she'll like it more when she's a bit older. For now, mommy likes it more than baby does.

I remember my parents reading this book to me when I was little. Yes, the board book is shortened from the original, but I think they did a nice job with that. Even being shortened it sometimes seems long for a 9 month old with a short attention span. I think that's the point.

This book REALLY gets stuck in my head. I love it! I especially like, "Big U, little u...what begins with U? Uncle Ubb's umbrella and his underwear too."

And then when your little one gets older and can sit for a longer period of time, get the full version of the book.

The book is hreat and my son loves it. However, it was listed as being in great condition but when arrived it had crayon marks on the pages and was worn.

Hard to beat Dr. Suess, the sheer joy in sounds and words. The pictures are captivating to the little one(s), but the adult or reader make it all work I think. Reading it together with your little one, using expression and making reading fun lays the foundation for a curiousity and love of reading. I was mildly dissappointed that this updated version as missing a word or two, I had the older one memorized! No alterations were necessary from the original, it may have saved a part of a page. Nevertheless, enjoying these books at a young age, inspiring your child to fill in the blank, or say a word with you, provides skills they will use in the coming critical years of school.
