| 1984. Pagers, answering machines, walkmans, computers going gonzo and here comes The Terminator. Machines making machines, machines terminating machines and everything gets recycled. Squished into rusting screws. After being shot to meltdown smoking hell. There's something magically Saturday matinee about this movie; maybe it's Stan Winston's lurching skinless Terminator in the last reel which evokes Ray Harryhausen's skeleton army in Jason & the Argonauts. None of the above possible without the improbable star. Talk about dry, and droll. Why is "I'll be back" so memorable? It's the superfluous decorum of the remark. Buster Keaton couldn't have bettered it, even if he was in Modern Times. |

WHAT MGM DID IS THEY TOOK THEIR 2001 TERMINATOR DVD CASE AND HOT GLUED A THIN TERMINATOR HOLOGRAM TO THE FRONT OF IT!!!! WHAT YOU GET IS THE EXACT SAME THING AS MGM'S 2001 RELEASE. SAME MGM BARE BONES DVD, SAME CRAPPY LOOKING CASE. ALL YOU WILL BE DOING IS SPENDING $14.98 FOR A THIN CRAPPY TERMINATOR HOLOGRAM. MGM TRIED TO TRICK PEOPLE THROUGH AMAZON.COM BY CHANGING THE LOOK OF THE DVD CASE TO MAKE PEOPLE THINK THAT THIS WAS A NEW TERMINATOR DVD RELEASE WITH CONTAINED DELETED FOOTAGE, INTERVIEWS, AND REAL SPECIAL FEATURES. The DVD froze in a couple of spots and it may have some scratches. It also could have been the interaction with the DVD player. I fixed the problem but I am
dissapointed that a new print would have these problems. |
