LIKE A LOT OF US, I NEVER GOT TO SEE STEVE AT A LIVE SHOW. I SAW HIM ON HBO ONCE AND I WAS ABSOLUTELY HOOKED. I AM SO GLAD THIS DVD WAS RELEASED. I HAVE OWNED IT SINCE ITS RELEASE AND IT REMAINS ONE OF MY MOST PRIZED. HE IS ABSOLUTELY A GREAT SONGWRITER AND LIVE PERFORMER. EVEN IF YOU DON'T LISTEN TO THIS TYPE OF MUSIC, THIS DVD IS A MUST HAVE FOR ANYONE WHO APPRECIATES ANY KIND OF MUSIC AT ALL. A REALLY WONDERFUL TIME. IT'S A SHAME HE HAD TO LEAVE US SO EARLY. AN ENERGETIC PERFORMER AND ONE OF THE BEST SONGWRITERS EVER, AND HE'S NO SLOUCH ON THE GUITAR EITHER. THIS IS A TRULY WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE THAT EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE IN THEIR MUSIC LIBRARY.

I didn't know how I would react to watching this DVD. It had been 25 years since I last seen Steve perform in person. I thought it would leave me feeling down, but just the opposite happened, I found myself glued to the TV, singing along, laughing and watching reactions of the audiences. The DVD is great, I'm glad I purchased it. I have watched this DVD about 6 times now since I received it, finding something new with every veiwing. I find myself singing his songs again. The DVD really captures his personality, the way he would interact with the audience. His guitar playing is awesome especially on "I'll Fly Away" when Steve plays the slide guitar. The interviews are also interesting. This DVD is a must have for anyone who ever seen Steve perform in person. It really brings back the great memories.

This is truly a must have for any Steve Goodman fan. It shows Steve at his best singing and interacting with his audience. There are also some good interviews of Steve and other entertainers who knew him. Steve left us way too soon, but this DVD does a good job of catching the genius and energy of a truly great entertainer.

if you only had a couple cd's by steve, like me and only sort of knew his stuff, this dvd will make you fall in love with his work. great bonus interviews about being a baseball fan and austin city limits cut with a very young John Prine singing Souvenirs worth it just for that material. dig the groovy haircuts in the audience.
