The third chapter of Indiana Jones is awesome and hilarious! Sean Connery co-stars as Indy's dad who always calls him 'Junior' Indy's dad is being held hostage by Nazi's, so Indy must save his dad, and find the Holy Grail before the Nazi's do! Indy's dad makes the movie a lot funnier, like when Elsa is talking to Indy about 'how great IT was', and Indy's dad thinks she is talking to him! I also love God's booby traps while Indy was trying to find the Grail to save his dad because the Nazi's shot him! I highly recommend INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE!!!

After reading the reviews of this movie, I finally rented it and well, I didn't think it was as good as Raiders of the Lost Ark, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, or Temple of Doom. I mean, don't get me wrong it's a good movie, but it was kinda ya know talky at times, ya know, adult conversations, lol. This takes place in 1938, two years after Raiders of the Lost Ark. Ah well, it wasn't dissapointing at all, it just didn't give the same good feeling as the other movies. Everybody says this was better than Temple of Doom and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. And I thought "Really?". So I decided to go with my own opinion. So, see Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, and the Last Crusade.

In 1938, Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) has discovered a diary and a map that can lead to the holy grail of Christ. Unfortunately his father Henry (Sean Connery) has been kidnapped by the Nazis as he heads to Venice where he meets up with a gorgeous nazi woman named Dr. Elsa Schnedier (Allison Doody) and private collector Walter Donovan (Julian Glover) to help rescue Henry. After they have rescued Henry, they must try to find the Holy Grail before the Nazis do cause the Nazis want to take over the world with super nazis if they were granted the powers.

Brilliant sequel that manages to improve over the dark and gruesome "Temple of Doom" and just as good as the first installment. This is a very entertaining sequel with all the goods like great acting especially from the late River Phoenix and John Rhys-Davis as Sallah, fantastic special effects like the amazing death of Donovan, action, a little romance and of course humor. This is a great movie from both Steven Spielburg and George Lucas as they made a truly solid installment that is very satisfying.

This DVD contains excellent picture and sound with good extras like an introduction by Spielburg and Lucas, three featurettes, photo galleries and a DVD-rom PC Lego Indiana Jones demo.

With a plot reminiscent of Raiders of the Lost Ark, the third Indiana Jones installment sees the return of a winning formula.

It's 1912 and young Indiana Jones (River Phoenix) risks his life to save Coronado's Cross. But his father (Sean Connery) is not impressed. We jump to 1938 and Indy (Harrison Ford) discovers that his father has gone missing while searching for the Holy Grail, a cup endowed with miraculous powers due to Jesus having drunk from it before his crucifixion. Off to Venice, where Indy is followed by a secret brotherhood, dedicated to maintaining the secret of the Grail. Indy finds his father, but Nazis kidnap them both. They escape to Berlin to find a missing diary and (literally) run into Hitler. After fleeing an airship and engaging in a dogfight, father and son head to the desert to beat the Nazis to the Grail. After a remarkable chase with a tank, Indy's dad is shot and must get to the Grail in order to save his father's life.

The chemistry between Harrison Ford and Sean Connery is fun to watch. Both actors have impeccable timing and are obviously enjoying themselves. And unlike Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, in which Indy's sidekicks were overall annoying, Connery's character is a worthy companion and foil. Since father and son have a past, you care about their relationship.

This installment also includes the return Indiana Jones' milder mannered side -- a hero who can be tremendously awkward when not battling bad guys or untangling ancient mysteries.

Much of the movie's success is due to a tongue-in-cheek attitude, signaled right from the start when young Indy -- played by an intense River Phoenix -- can't find the rest of his Scout troop and loudly declares that "everyone is lost but me."

Ahh, that's the Indiana Jones we know and love.

Although nothing can beat the first 10 minutes of Raiders, here we get answers to some burning questions: Why is Indiana terrified of snakes? Why the fedora? And how did he get that scar on his chin? Finally, we even learn Indiana's real name!

The Last Crusade recaptured the fun and excitement of the first Indiana Jones movie with a father son pair-up that is both genius and funny. James Bond and Indiana Jones together...now there's a dynamic duo! What is especially ironic is that Spielberg was inspired to have a cloak and dagger plot in the Indiana Jones series that was born from a love the James Bond films.

Harrison Ford brings Indiana Jones back to life with an amazing performance. But this time we get to see a bit of the little boy who is trying to impress his father. A couple of the most enjoyable parts of the movie are when Indiana does something that he is proud of and looks to his father for approval...only to gets a look of disdain!

Sean Connery has always been one of my favorite actors ever since the early days of Bond. A true mans man and a ladies man. He seems to be as comfortable in a suit as wresting in the mud. Connery gives a stunning performance in the Last Crusade as a driven man in search of the Holy Grail who deeply loves his son, but as with many fathers, is clumsy at expressing that love. One of the great lines of the movie came when Connery confronts his son about the origin of his adventurous name when he says in typical Connery fashion: "The dogs name was Indiana!"

There are many memorable scenes. We get to find out why Indy hates snakes. In the opening of the movie the young Indy (played by River Phoenix) falls into a circus train car full of snakes...and hates them ever after. Who can blame him! Another memorable scene is when Indiana comes face to face with Hitler (at a rally in Berlin) who signs the critical journal Indy is holding.

The plot is about a quest for the Holy Grail that has incalculable value and magical powers to bring long...long life. The plot twists and turns, frightens and delights as our heroes get closer to the final prize. In one of the final twists of the plot Indian must "Choose Wisely" to save his father's life and not losing his own!

Overall a great addition to the Indiana Jones collection!

Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is just back from retrieving the Cross of Coronado (a quest he's been on for years) when he gets the news. His father (Sean Connery) has picked up the trail of the Holy Grail, a quest he's been on for years. Unfortunately, Dr. Jones Senior has vanished. So Indiana sets out for Venice to find his father.

Once there, he realizes he and his father are in a race for time with the Nazis to find this holy relic. The Nazis want to use it to create an army of invincible soldiers since the cup is rumored to create eternal life from those who drink of it. The problem? The Nazis have key pieces of research the two need to locate and retrieve it. Can they find it first? Will they make it out of this adventure alive?

This movie is lighter in tone, much more like the first one then the second one. In fact, I'd say it is the lightest of all three of them with fewer gruesome images then the first two. (No, that doesn't mean this is for the squeamish, however.) The acting is good, especially the chemistry between Harrison Ford and Sean Connery. They look like they are having fun together on screen. The story is clever and keeps you engaged with actions and plenty of laughs along the way. I did feel the action got repetitive in the middle, however. That's pretty much my only complaint.

This movie is really nothing more then a mindless action film. But it's very good at it. If you are looking to be entertained, this movie will do it.

Paramount Pictures Presents, a Lucasfilm Ltd. Production. A Steven Spielburg Film.
Story by George Lucas and Menno Meyjes. Screenplay by Jeffrey Boam, Directed by Steven Spielberg.
Harrison Ford, John Rhys-Davies and Denholm Elliott return for the third film.
It is the year 1938. This time Dr. Indiana Jones must go to Venice, Italy in search of The Holy Grail and the chalice that Jesus drank from during The Last Supper around 1905 years ago.
Why Indy? Well, the last archeologist had all the information of The Holy Grail they needed, however he is missing. It is Indiana Jones father, Henry (Sean Connery).
River Phoenix plays "Indiana Jones" at 15. This segment inspired a tv series "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" (1992-93) in which Harrison Ford as "Indiana Jones" in 1950 made a special appearance in the episode, "Young Indiana Jones and the Mystery of the Blues".

The knight was played by Robert Eddison. The temple actually exists in Petra, Jordan. The outside of the temple was not a special effect. They were actually there. However, the inside of the temple was filmed from a studio.

Karen Allen and John Ryes-Davies reunited for the television special "The Making of Indiana Jones Adventure". The Disneyland attraction ride opened March 3, 1995.

All VHS and DVD editions of the Indiana Jones films are collectible.

Film won the Academy Award for Sound Effects Editing and nominated for Original Score.
Harrison Ford and Sean Connery will return!
Indiana Jones 4 will be released May 22, 2008.

I don't usually care for action movies, but this one was quite good. There's a chase scene or a fight scene every couple of minutes, and the film does a pretty good job of keeping things interesting without tossing in tons of irrelevant martial arts material (i.e. the Matrix).

What ties the action together is Indiana's quest to find his father and stop the Nazis from getting the legendary holy grail. Lots of secretive-type stuff goes on, which is always cool. I did have a little bit of trouble with some of the continuity of the plot at one or two points, but I found this slight obstacle easy to overlook.

Every now and then there's some comic relief, mostly brought about by Sean Connery of all people. Since he's pretty old in this movie, he doesn't contribute much to the action. That's left up to Harrison Ford, who does a great job of making you believe that archaeology professors are the toughest son-of-a-guns on earth.

The type of action you can expect to see involves motocycle riding, fist-fights on moving tanks, boat chases, trespassing through old castles, exploding airplanes, tomb exploration, and plenty of guns of course. The film makers packed it all in. Very few dull moments, and surprisingly little philosophy for something with religious subject matter in the plot.

I enjoyed this movie because it's not too gross, and it's not filled with unnecessary cussing, like tons of other action films out there. I think it's something most everybody can enjoy. It's my favorite Indiana Jones film, and beats the heck out of the Temple of Doom. Highly watchable, even if it's the only Indiana Jones movie you ever see.

It may just be coincidence but this time Harrison Ford that was a carpenter is not Dr. Indiana Jones (Junior) and his last crusade (until the next film) is to obtain a cup of a carpenter.

Even though this film can stand on its own, it can be more fully understood if you watch "Raiders of the lost Ark" first.

Once again we start out with a young Jones trying to save an artifact from pillagers. This lets us know of his heroic energy and introduces his father Professor Henry Jones (Sean Connery) and his obsession with the Holy Grail, even to the exclusion of his relationship with Junior.

Now grown Dr. Indiana Jones gives a class and explains that Archeology is a pretty strait forward science and not some search for legends. He receives a mysterious piece of post.

He is then approached by group of rich people that are in search of the Grail. It turns out that their top researcher has disappeared. Yep it is Professor Henry Jones. What can Indiana do but go looking for his father. He is accounted by his best friend who runs a museum Dr. Marcus Brody (Denholm Elliottt) as they team up with the last person to see his father Dr. Elsa Schneider (Alison Doody.) He gets a final warning "Do not trust anybody."

Will he find his father?
If he dies what will they have to talk about?
Does the Grail really exist?
Who are the mysterious people following him?

One of my favorite scenes is where Dr. Jones disguised in a German uniform bumps into Hitler (Michael Sheard of Star Wars fame).

Have fun watching this great film with the banter between Hennery and Junior. And remember "do not trust anybody."
