I bought this step from Amazon almost three years ago, and it's held up great.
As other reviewers have mentioned, it's a full-size step, just like the ones you'd find at a gym. It's solid and sturdy, and even with weekly use, mine looks practically brand new. The black traction has not come up or worn down at all, and it's been great to have this bench to do my step workouts at home.
If you're thinking about purchasing the smaller-sized bench, you might want to bite the bullet and pay a bit more for this full-sized one since you definitely won't outgrow it and it will allow you to do any step workout out there. :-)

I love this product. It is sturdy and slip-proof. I like the gradations of height and the vibrant colors. My only beef perhaps would be that the grooved lines on the step surface are hard to clean. Other than that, it's well worth the money spent.

When the gym closed where I had been taking a step class, this helped to keep it going at home. Both Sports Authority and Target had steps that crumbled on top as you used them. The dark rubber top made a mess. This step in made better and I enjoy the longer length for a good work out.

Have you seen the steps in the gym? This is the exact same height, length and structure they have at your local gym. Perfect for working out on, to all of the excersise classes on tv to just doing it yourself. Love the colors compared to the one at the gym! sturdy and well made you wont be sorry. fast shipping too

I have never been a fan of aerobic exercise, but I love step aerobics. I live in a 850sqft condo in San Francisco, so I have very little space to exercise. Step aerobics is perfect for small spaces. It is unfortunate that this company makes such a flimsy product, it will not support my 245lbs. So, if your over 200lbs and want to start step aerobics I would consider the NORDIC TRACK STEPPER. It will hold up to 250lbs, and it comes with a DVD with 2 routines, beginner and intermediate, which I have been doing 3 days a week for 7 months, and am still having fun doing. It is adjustable and looks a lot like the Reebok 5-Position Step Deck that they sell here on Amazon. I found mine at sears online, it was $49.99. Don't waste your money on this inferior product, spend less and get a better product.

This is the same step I have used at the gym and I absolutely love it. It has plenty of room to move around and is very sturdy.
