| The one time my friend and I caught his live show, we were put through hours or boring chat from Mr. Mraz. People come to hear you sing Jason, not jabber on muchadoaboutnothing. I'm not sure if he was drunk, or other, but his sets were boring and it made me realize so is his music. Good voice, but learn to take it more seriously. |

| I am very surprised that Jason Mraz isn't more popular than he is. With songs like "The Remedy" and "You and I Both" which are both great, you'd think he'd be right up there with John Mayer (I actually like Jason a lot more than John Mayer). He should have won best new artist at least at the Grammys, but he didn't even get nominated. My other favs. from this album include "On Love, In Sadness" and "Curbside Prophet" This is one of the best male singers to come around in a long time. I recommend Waiting For My Rocket To Come; Mr. A-Z and any other album he comes out with. He is GREAT! :) |

| I like Jason Mraz's music and his first one(this one) sounds too great. I put him in the same camp as John Mayer, Maroon 5, Gavin DeGraw, Train, and Rob Thomas. He uses real instruments throughout every song and his lyrics are very funny. This is also a laid back and kind of humorous album. This one is not to be slept on. I can call it The WB music. |

"Great Debut Album - Jason Mraz - Waiting for My Rocket to Come" | 2006-01-19 |

| This was another surprising album to me. Obviously, everyone that knows Jason Mraz knows his songs "The Remedy," and "You and I Both," which are his top hits that are played on the radio. However, he does have other good songs like "I'll do anything." The negative is that the album has some gaps, meaning only half the album has good songs, and the rest sound like filler songs to me. Another negative is after a while, all the songs sound about the same, but that may not be a negative to some people, if you like the sound of the song. Personally, I could listen to most of the songs and I really liked the CD. He mixes Pop and alternative together nicely, and I really recommend other people to buy this great CD. |

I don't usually buy an album unless I have read the reviews already. But this is an exception. The first time I heard "sleep all day", I got interested with it and never hesitated to buy the album. Mraz should be credited with his debut album because it's exceptionally "AMRAZING". although alot of people have been comparing Jason Mraz with John Mayer, I must say they have distinct styles. Other than the fact that they do have the same initials and they both play the guitar, Jason Mraz plays around more with music. Evidently showed in this album is the variety of music that Mraz could virtually make - pop to country to jazz to blues. No one gets bored listening to his music. I love every song from this album that's why I'm giving it 5 stars. Of course, I especially love "sleep all day" which has prompted me to buy the album and which I'm reminded of John Mayer. Jason Mraz has released 5 singles here in the Philippines namely, "sleep all day" which got everybody's attention. I for one could attest to it since I'm working in a radio station. This song has received lots of request although people don't know who the hell the artist is. Yet I believed this single catalyzed people to know him. the second single released was . . . "the remedy (I won't worry)" now this song has catapulted mraz's stardom here in the Philippines. With its upbeat popish tempo, people have came to noticed that this guy wasn't some next John Mayer. the third was . . . "You and I Both" which has also received airplays yet not much that compared to "the remedy". next was . . . "No Stopping Us" which is one of my favorite songs from the album. next would be . . . "the curbside prophet" which was the last single released here in the Philippines, at least. I would've recommended some songs like "who needs shelter" and some other songs to be released yet they didn't. Anyway, if you are indeed a music lover, then this cd is a must. Try to check out the live album as well. I have every song of Jason Mraz on my MP3 player, BELIEVE ME!!! |

Jason's vocals can't be replaced.
It's just that that makes this album what it is--It doesn't matter who produces his songs, his vocals will make the album. Thus, that is also why he can sing so many different styles of songs--it just doesn't matter, it'll be flawless no matter what!
The same, obviously, goes for Waiting for My Rocket to Come. His thousands of hooks and vocal jumps never cease to entertain, and I have found a new sport in trying to replicate them.
You say to yourself, "That'd be easy to do, just yodel back and forth, can't be that hard..." Well, try it, you'll learn it's quite amazing what this guy can do.
Can't wait to hear more, but for now, hearing this will more than suffice... |

| If you are thinking about purchasing this c.d. and can`t really decide, I say go for it. This c.d. is in constant play in my car and home and there are songs for every mood. Mraz has a wonderful voice next to his insane guitar playing and always keeps you rocking and singing along. Curbside Prophet is definitely the stand out winner on this album and if you want to give this c.d. as a gift the person who receives this will be eternally grateful. Fans of John Mayer or other folk-type singers will enjoy this. Warning: Not for bubblegum pop lovers. |

"full of surprises" | 2005-02-22 |

I bought this album because I thought The Remedy was a fun, catchy song. I was pleasantly surprised with how incredibly versatile Jason Mraz is. On this CD the Virginia native has his finger in many pies. Some of the songs are smooth and sweet, one has a reggae feel, one features rapping in a way only Mraz could do it, and yet another starts off with blaring brass reminiscent of the 1970's. As if this melange of styles isn't impressive enough, he has something else going for him: he has a beautiful, melodic voice as well.
With all these fathers in his cap it is strange that this very talented artist never got to be more successful. Then again, maybe it is this very versatility that goes against him. It can be difficult to categorize Mraz into one musical bracket, which listeners tend to do, but it would be a mistake to do so.
Another amazing thing about this disc is the assortment of instruments featured on it. In addition to the standard guitar, bass, and drums there is a ukelele, a sythesizer, a slide guitar, an organ, a banjo, a clavinet, a tambourine, and a shaker.
The variety of instruments and the versatility of Mraz provide for a rich, deep, accomplished CD. Spread your wings and give this one a listen! |
