Here is what people are saying about the AC/DC - Back in Black (Deluxe Digipak)
2 Star Rating  "Two stars. And it's still the best AC/DC album."2009-10-26

I'm sorry, but I fail to see the praise and accolades that this album (and band, for that matter) constantly receive. There is no musical ingenuity, nor is there lyrical ingenuity. The entire album is centered around three chords, a guitar solo, some lyrics about sex and rock 'n' roll, and....that's it. While technically Angus Young is an excellent guitarist, he has no creativity when writing riffs or solos. And Brian Johnson just can't stop singing about sex in the most mundane fashion possible. For ten songs, he can't come up with one couplet that is anything but unimaginative.

Now, I did give the album two stars, because I obviously realize it's an Important Album In Rock And Roll History and all that. And Angus Young does turn out some pretty catchy licks with "Back In Black", "Hells Bells", and "You Shook Me All Night Long". But overall, the album is just plain tedious. It is AC/DC's best album though, which isn't saying much. I mean, the guys released a song entitled: "Mistress For Christmas".

Ultimately, the album falls into the category of mindless hard rock. Look, I enjoy rock and roll as much as anyone, and I do realize the album's significance as one of the top selling albums of all time. But, quite frankly, it does not deserve the status it has attained. Aerosmith, for God's sake, was able to come up with more interesting music than this. And it's not like I'm trying to sound like some musical snob by deriding the album for using (largely) three chords, I'm one of the biggest punk fans you can find. But on this album, the music sounds tiresome, bloated, and uninspired. This band is regressive in every way possible.

5 Star Rating  "AC/DC is the ultimate classic rock band."2009-10-22

What is there to say about this album that hasn't already been said, you ask? Plenty. Everyone knows that AC/DC's Back In Black contains simple, straight-forward classics like Hell's Bells, Shoot To Thrill, and You Shook Me All Night Long, as well as other songs like What Do You Do For Money Honey and Shake A Leg, which also focus on sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll, but there are three other songs that bring a deeper meaning to the album. In 1979, original AC/DC singer Bon Scott died of alcohol poisoning after a night of heavy drinking, and therefore when the band went on to release an album with new vocalist Brian Johnson in 1980, they were 'Back In Black' because they were still mourning him. However, they weren't about to quit drinking, which was made clear with Have A Drink On Me, my personal favorite AC/DC song. Bon Scott's bandmates realized that he would have wanted them move on and enjoy the party lifestyle, as long as they didn't drink as much as he did. The third song on the album that is a tribute to the late Bon Scott is Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution, which is also a response to critics who gave the band bad reviews. It states that "he'll always be with us" because "rock and roll will never die", which has proven true. AC/DC has had enormous success after Bon Scott died and the classic 70s albums that featured him on vocals are all but forgotten. AC/DC is the ultimate classic rock band and many fans consider Back In Black to be their finest hour. Even if you don't usually go for party-time classic rock, Back In Black has something for everyone and is easy to appreciate. After all, you can only listen to just so much intelligent and sophisticated music before you want to hear something simpler and easier to understand. Thus, I highly recommend this album, especially since it is now available in this very reasonably priced deluxe edition, which features all original album artwork in addition to many great photos (all in black-and-white, of course) as well as a detailed and informative essay and various memorabilia such as newspaper clippings and whatnot. This is also an enhanced CD, meaning that it provides access to even more bonus content on the band's website. Fuse music channel, which is much better than MTV, recently proclaimed the song Back In Black as the #1 heavy metal anthem of all-time, and the other songs on the album are just as good. AC/DC's Back In Black is a simple yet brilliant album that all hard rock fans should own.

One of the favorites of both critics and AC/DC fans. In my opinion it's not as good as "Highway to Hell" but still a great album. The lyrics may be a little-bit single-minded about women and partying. Still, great riffs in the songs like "Back in Black", "Hells Bells" and "You Shook Me All Night Long". The new singer Brian Johnson had a little softer voice than Bon Scott but many welcomed him. Actually, there's no bad riffs at all but there's still something missing.

This is an awesome AC DC Album. It has great songs on it such as You shook Me all night long and Back In Black. It came out in 1980 and is still good today!

Generally, I don't listen to a lot of rock n' roll. About the closest I've come are the old Judas Priest records. I'm just a bigger fan of the alternative metal/hardcore genres. That being said, the WB show "Supernatural" really began to endear me to the classics by AC/DC, Def Leppard, etc. So, there's my confession... I was influenced to buy this album from a TV show... I'm sorry all of you anti-consumerists, it just happened. and boy...

AM I GLAD IT DID! This is a classic and feel good rock n' roll album and definitely one of the best I've ever heard. Every song is so memorable and so fun and so infectious you just can't help but love it. "Black Ice" is a good album... "Back in Black" is a GREAT album.

NOTE TO OTHER CHRISTIAN LISTENERS:
This album is full of tawdry innuendo there are a couple of profanities... Stupid? Yeah. Fortunately, there's nothing explicit on here so as to make it a deal breaker. You kind of just have to take it at face value.
