Editorial Review This best-of is loaded with the usual smash suspects plus three new cuts--the sub-Mellancamp "Someday I'll Be Saturday Night," the Bed of Roses-style ballad single "Always," and a low-key remake of "Living On A Prayer" titled "Prayer '94." Love 'em or not, there's no denying the loyalty of the fans. --Jeff Bateman

Here is what people are saying about the Bon Jovi - Cross Road
"A childhood classic" | 2009-08-12 |

I was raised on this album. I came to love every single song on this album, which is a colletion of Bon Jovi songs. It's a joy to finally be able to hear this album again. As I listen to the songs with more mature ears, I find that some of the songs are good but not great. But they will always be amazing to me since I've been listening to them since I was little.
If you are a Bon Jovi fan, you will probably appreciate this collection, or if you're new to the band, it's good to that too (it introduced me to Bon Jovi). |

"ADD 3 songs....REMASTER" | 2009-06-01 |

| Adding a few more songs would be nice, RE-release the album...maybe remaster. Without songs like " BORN TO BE MY BABY" etc., there really isn't any great JOVI hits. There are easily a couple of other good tracks from SLIPPERY WHEN WET, that could go on this HITS collection, even NEW JERSEY. BUT PLEASE NO demos, or LIVE TRACKS. Those destroy hits collections. This album is way to short for the CD world, not for cassettes but deffently short for a hits collection. Hits VOL. 2, is rumored for fall of 2009. This is what worries me. BOUNCE, the album, was really bad...AND I KNOW ,the jovi camp will stick those crappy songs on the set list. |

| Cross Road by Bon Jovi is a fantastic greatest hits album and I am normally not a fan of these types of albums. Songs like Runaway, You Give Love a Bad Name, I'll Be There For You, Always, Blaze of Glory, and Bed of Roses are still good to this day. John Bon Jovi has such a memorable voice, I highly recommend this rockin' trip down memory lane, enjoy! |

I was never really a huge fan back in the 1980s (the greatest decade in music). I think the whole skin-tight leather pants / Aqua Net hairspray motif was a real turnoff. But with age comes wisdom and Bon Jovi has made their mark in the music world. Even Jon Bon Jovi admits that the big hair was ridiculous. There are some great timeless songs on this compilation. "Livin' On a Prayer" is probably the greatest 1980s song. It's still played on the radio and I've noticed that it also gets airtime at almost every wedding I've attended, regardless of race or culture. "I'll Be There For You" is another great song.
Of course, with most compilations, there are a few duds. Bon Jovi is a rock band yet they've included a country song - "Someday I'll Be Saturday Night." Why? I know it was made during the 90s when Bon Jovi was trying to leave behind the hairspray days but this song stinks. Another dud is "Prayer 94" which is a remix of "Livin' On a Prayer." It's a slow drawn-out mess. The song doesn't really go anywhere. It sounds like it was recorded with a drunken Jon Bon Jovi.
I'm giving this album 5 stars despite the two duds because the entire album download was sold for a whopping $1.99! |
