| I loved this book. I clung to God and this book during coping with the loss of my father. I truly gave me a new perspective. By the time I finished the book, I had a sense of peace about heaven and what is like to be there. I would recommend this book for anyone who has lost a love one. It uses bible quotes to support it's explaination of heaven. |

I was so excited to get this book-I couldn't wait!! However I am disappointed that it is so weighty and not at all what I expected. I haven't finished it because for me, it is not a book you could relax with. This could just be me....
It is NOT about the heaven we will go to when we die, it is about when we rule and reign on earth with Christ in the new heaven and new earth. |

Mr. Alcorn has exhaustively researched heaven and shares his opinions. I could find no point upon which I would strenuously disagree based upon scripture, though my opinions sometimes differ. For example, Mr. Alcorn believes various cultures will be preserved and he cites scripture that arguably supports this view. I have always imagined a unified culture in heaven - one family. This would not be a boring, bland, blah culture - but one that is rich, complex, satisfying and shared. The confusion of languages at Babel with the attendant removal of man's unified potential gives rise also to the divergent cultures, in my opinion. This will be reversed and the pure language restored (see Zephaniah 3:9).
I found most comforting Mr. Alcorn's thoughts about how we could be happy in heaven when our loved ones might not be there with us.
I am grateful to Mr. Alcorn for expanding my thinking about heaven. I had never considered that the new earth could be heaven. Previously, I had imagined there would still be two places - but with free ingress and egress between them. I am not convinced that I am wrong, but I am certainly now open to thinking about heaven in new and creative ways as I continue to read the scriptures. |

| Wow What a book!!!!! I think everyone should read this since Randy tries to include as much scripture to back up his views. I am moved by this book and agree with the comment on the cover....That outside of the BIBLE this could be one of the most significant books a person can ever read! I am shocked to have such a hard time finding this book in Toronto. It should be available in large quantities so we can buy extra copies for friends and family. I even consider this book excellent to give to anyone who doesn't believe because he does address in the early part of the book how we need to decide to accept Christ so that our names are written in the Lambs book of life. Because of Jesus and his work on the Cross ...we actually go to Heaven and not Hell if we accept Him. He doesn't miss the point of talking about Heaven without mentioning the reality of the other. Accepting Christ into our hearts is the only way to get to Heaven and be with Jesus forever. The church today needs to have a clear understanding of the reality of our future destination which will be forever! The BIBLE does have so much to tell us if we study it closely just like Randy has in this book. Believers and non believers both have so much misonceptions about the reality of both Heaven and Hell. It is important to be informed and be able to spread the "GOOD NEWS"! |
