This is by far one of the greatest albums of all time!Don't hate dark side finatics,but this is only my fourth favorite Pink Floyd album,beaten by The Wall(the greatest album ever)Meddle(musically the best album of all time)and Animals(musically the 2nd greatest album of all time).Sue me.

Despite that,I reccomend this album to any fan of the oldies or just,ANYONE!!!!!!!!

I love this cd! Every track is outstanding! It's a classic. It's a lot more meaningful than a lot of the songs on the radio today. Dark Side of the Moon is outstanding.

People. Here I sit defying my own mantra. My own raison d'etre. My own popcorn at the cinema verite. I never wanted to review this iconic album. Really I didn't. But forces beyond your known experiences and weakening tides of the earth have sung a different tune to the Seer of Seers, the Truth beyond Fiction, the Hobnail of all the Boots, your own beloved Metamorpho.

Why you say? Because what could one add to the vast multitudes who have written before your enlightened friend? Me! That's who! And please realize that explaining this album is not what I'm about. No. Having an off-centre approach and having fun is really what it's all about. No doubt.

This is one of those albums that stand out from the crowd because, upon your very first listening, it is such an impressional landmark in your mind, and so entirely unique that you just have to listen to it again- and again- and again to reveal yet another nugget of worth from it's vast expanse that your sub-concious mind (as stubborn as it may be) must be forced to give up to your concious mind eventually. It will happen. No need to stuggle. I will be there for support.

I do not presuppose that I know everything that this album means to all people. Or what it conveys. It's always a subjective thing people, and I can't speak for he or she or them or it or he is me and we are all together that we belong to. Face it. Late 60's or early 70's psychedelia has taken a toll on all of us. That said, this album is the monumental one by Pink Floyd and one that is essential in your vast musical archive- even if you never listen to it. Hell, even owning it is like a musical pass to the great beyond and then some, providing, of course, that you symbiotically got something from it. And, don't make me responsible. Everyone hates to be responsible these days. What? You didn't notice? How rude.....

To me, this album is so successful because the music and lyrics pertain to the journey of life. And themes that we can all relate to. Life's struggles, money, mental illness, comfort, time (or lack of it), energy spent, personal alliances or the differences between us, the value and worth of our own human experience, death, and the beginning and end of our own existence. Inescapable stuff for sure. And. so jarring.

We revisit so much because we want to know that we didn't miss anything. But Pink Floyd, in this outing, gave you more than enough aural enlightenment that it will keep your brain cells and ears humming for years to come. Take my word. Seers never lie.

The whole thing is hard to explain. It's like explaining why Metamorpho has a vast fan club at his beck and call 24/7. It's just one of those phenomenas that we all must marvel at. But, Pink Floyd did it with all sorts of electronic equipment; synthesizers, changing patterns, clocks chiming, horns, saxs, driving rythmns, soft melodic breezes of sound. The changes relate to the many moods of life itself. And this is what I find so exemplary about it's whole construction.

The seamless construction of this offering has stood the test of time. I think that if you don't get anything from it then you really haven't listened to it. And, music of this magnitude commands to be listened to. From the heartbeat at the beginning to the heartbeat at then end- this really is what your life will be. This is the genius behind the production. Don't take my word. I am just an all-knowing Seer. Come to your own conclusions. Any Colour You Like. But, if you don't agree with me- I will be highly offended! ;) (But forgiving).

In closing- a monumental work and make of it what you will. But, definitely worth a place in your collection of all-time greats.

Hey I think this CD is really terrifyingly horribly unbalievably stink. I base mah opinion on the cupcakes and headstands a.k.a. headracks of songs presented here:
a lame astronomy domain, mad-for-kickers Lewdy fur Sam, Sea Emmy Lee's plate, Apples and Oargums, Pint me @ disc eye and leaded fly a.k.a. The hipppeye anthem.
