This album is amazing through and through. But I challenge any human being whose ever been in love to listen to Black without coming to tears. Black is the embodiment of what music should be. Music is supposed to move us and make us feel something. I've been listening to this album since its release and I still come to tears every time I listen to Black some 18 years later. The song is so powerful it almost overcomes the listener. There is no other song I've ever heard from any other artist that so clearly takes a thought or feeling and passes it on to the listener. This album, and Black in particular, is the pinnacle of what music can and should be.

Rightfully one of the 90's loudest rock attacks. For a brief moment, as Pearl Jam entered the scene with this blistering debut, they helped to usher arena rock into more thoughtful areas without loosing any of the aggression they proceeded to shed over the next twenty years.

Ten is Pearl Jam's finest CD in my opinion. I passed on my first copy to my nephew, and avid Pearl Jam fan. This copy sounds perfect to me--I listened to it everyday for a while. Good and fast service; it arrived within just a few days. Thanks.

Not since Led Zeppelin "I" has a debut album had as much impact on a generation then Pearl Jam's Ten.
The emotions rendered listening to this over and over again, can only be described as visceral.Led Zeppelin "I" was bombastic, Pearl Jam's Ten nearly has as much gonads!
One of the great albums of all time. A must have in any music library.

Pearl Jam's Ten (1991) is a wildly creative album that rocks with the best, and is surprisingly intelligent, too. The obvious influences on these Seattle rockers are Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and The Who, but this isn't a ripoff of any of those styles. Pearl Jam definitely had it's own sound when the band hit the scene with this stunning debut. Lyrically, the album's themes explore various forms of psychological isolation and personal perspectives on societal issues like homelessness, mental illness, incest, neglect, abuse, suicide, drugs and crime.

Even Flow is a great rocking tune with strong guitar riffing and enthusiastic solos. It's about a homeless man who is beginning to lose his mind.

Every song is a winner here, and rock guitar fans will enjoy what Ten has to offer, too. Guitarists Stone Gossard and Mike McCready play inventive heavy riffs and blistering lead solos everywhere here. Eddie Vedder is a strong lead singer when he wants to be, and there isn't a bad vocal performance anywhere on this album. His emotional reading of Jeremy, a song based on the true story of a 15-year-old boy who commited suicide in his classroom in 1991, is especially haunting.

Ten is a classic that ROCKS! It's one of the best rock music albums of the 1990s, and beyond. Even though the subject matter is dark and sometimes hopeless, it's presented in such an unrestrained and powerful way that the album is very much a motivating and energizing listening experience. Definitely recommended to every alternative rock/hard rock music fan out there.
