Studies have shown that more people suffer heart attacks on Mondays, and less people die during a recession. These two facts might seem irrelevant at a glance, but it points to the fact there are a lot of unhappy people trying to do jobs that they hate, or are unsuited to perform. Once people are forced to leave the jobs, they miraculously get healthier. Go figure. I first took the strengthsfinder on-line test when I was working with the corporate education dept of a large insurance company a few years ago, and it really revealed why I was so unhappy at my job. The report pretty much confirmed everything that I already thought about my strengths, but it was good to have an impartial company documenting everything. I have also got some interviews for potential jobs when I emailed my strengthsfinder report along with my CV, so a lot of people know about this. Anyone can learn a skill to perform, but ultimately the value you bring to a organization is the collection of strengths that make you an individual.

You don't need my help to hype this book. Worth the money for the insight gained.
Warning: While the special code in each book does give you access to a test that gives you your top five strengths. There is much larger charge for the knowledge of the order of which ones your worst at or even mediocre at. They say it plainly, but it was a disturbing surprise for me.

All executive management at my company read this book and in turn, I purchsed it for the people who report to me on my team. It is a great book and it has helped me to better manage the people who report to me by knowing what makes them tick. I can tailor my style to meet theirs for a more productive and fulfilling working relationship.

Part of the value of the book is a code to access a web site to determine your strengths. If the code in your book has been used, the only option to get a viable code is to buy another book. I bought a book that was supposed to be new. The code had already been used and there is no recourse.
