I bought this to secure my mac while I was at my studio desk. It did not fit into my computer as the two prongs and the lock piece were not aligned. This is not a well made product. Avoid it if you can and you won't get charged for the shipping, regardless of the poor quality of craftsmanship.

Works well for laptop safety when you are nearby. Wire could be cut with wire cutters so you shouldn't wander off too far. Overall, it is a great product for what it was intended.

many say that this will hurt your macbook, unless you use it to go fishing, it will be fine. slight scratching may occur around the insertion site (giggle) but only if you aren't careful.

I ordered the Kensington 64068F from an Amazon affiliate and received it within a few days of the order. Amazon has an excellent email notification system and mail tracking was provided for the item. I had a near real time electronic notification of each step of the product order and delivery supply chain. The product itself was as described. I tried it with my HP Pavilion DV9000 laptop. The lock inserts into a security slot near the hinge of the laptop. The item came with two keys so, I will give one to my wife an the other to my son who is going to use the product in his dorm room. The Amazon seller was reliable, the Amazon service stellar and the product exceeded my expectation.

This cable lock is long enough, the cable is covered as to not scrape things, and the key is simple and effective. I had trouble the first few times trying to open it in the HP Pavillion, but it seemed it must have been the notebook, as the lock worked fine outside the computer. It works great, now, and at a really good price (compared to lesser locks even).

Based on others' reviews about this lock not working on the Macbook Pro, I went to the store and asked them to open one up and use it on the 13", since that is what I have. The first saleswoman was unable to get it to insert as there are two male parts which hit above and below the slot, which proceeded to dent the Mac (thankfully theirs not mine). Then another salesman showed us the trick--you must turn the key BEFORE you insert it into the slot. This removes the two aforementioned parts and the key inserts fine, so I bought it. He emphasized not to pull the cable taut as pulling on it will damage the Mac, so it's not perfect, but I felt worth the purchase.
