The headphones are pretty good, I did not have the problems that others have had with the earphones breaking. When I originally purchased them it was supposed to be compatible with ipod classic, but the remote only works with the touch and mini. Other than that for the price I cant complain. sound quality is great on the headphones. I cant say how the remote works because I have not used it.

The technical specifications for this product are wrong.
It is in fact not compatible with the iPod Video (5g or 5.5g) and the iPod Nano 1g. What other models it is incompatible with, I do not know but i own both these iPods and the Headphone and Data plug set up this uses is not available on any of those three iPod Models.

i have an ipod video, 30g, and these do not work with it. only the really old models have that extra little port near the headphone jack and without it the remote is useless. the only bonus is that i got another pair of apple headphones for about eight bucks. i bought these to use with a wired backpack and since they dont do what they say im still on the market.
"Remote Control for the fourth's Ipod generation"

The romote control is very convenient to control the ipod. It allow to the control the ipod when the click whell is locked or not. But be carefull not to break the clip, it dosen't look solid.
(I've heard a bunch of mixed opinions on the earbuds... they fit some people better than others. I've never had a problem with them and use them regularly while riding the train and working out at the gym. My reason for writing this review is to address the remote.)
What I like: Keeping my iPod tucked in my computer bag as I ride the train, with only the remote controller out. iPod thefts are a common crime where I live, and keeping it out of sight is at least one protective measure you can take. I can control the volume and playback very nicely and when I'm done, I turn off the iPod with the controller and tuck the earbuds in a side pocket. Very convenient. And as I mentioned above, the earbuds are fine for me. I'm not entirely too gentle with them so getting an extra set of them with the remote is OK. :)
What I don't like: As others have mentioned, the cable covering that protects the wiring as it connects to the part you plug into your iPod is not very sturdy. As the cable twists and moves about during normal jostling and shuffling about (even in a bag), that cable covering works loose eventually, exposing the wiring. And if the wiring in turn gets twisted, it definitely impacts playback quality. Typically I'll have diminished or crackling sound in one earbud or the other. If I twist the cable and/or push the covering back down (and this is difficult), it will be OK for a while. I've resorted to awkwardly wrapping that part with electrician's tape but it's only a stopgap measure. Hence I'm now buying my third remote. I'm probably going to try to secure it right from the go, to prolong the life of the remote, but I figure I'll be back here buying another one in a year or so.
The bottom line: It's convenient but not perfect. If you don't mind fumbling with the iPod as you listen on the go, you don't need this product. If you do buy it, treat the cable carefully and be aware that the covering will probably separate from the connector at some point. Hope that's helpful!
