| For some years I tried this and other Monster products, to the tune of over $1000 in Monster a/v gear. The more you learn about video and audio, the more you'll avoid anything with the Monster label. Specifically, this s-video meets no NTSC, DVD or IEEE standard; it is common 30-ohm hookup wire with ineffective shielding and a poorly designed, low-conductance connect plug that can wreck your input jacks and gives poor grounding. Has a sharp image, but includes a catalog of chromatic aberrations from off-color skin tones to color blotching, dirty grays, burned highlights, murky shadows, noisy reds, and poor color balance due to impedance mismatching that results in cyan errors and bleeding reds. Makes video test patterns look great, but who watches test patterns all day? Amazon offers many other brands at good prices, why waste your $$ on this stuff? I removed every piece of Monster from my system and replaced them with AR, Belden, Viewsonics and others from Amazon. Result: vast improvement in every respect. |

| I had a pair of these cables for approximately 2 years when i noticed there was a frayed end where the connector started to come off. I didn't notice any change in performance but I recalled that ALL Monster Cable "wires" have a lifetime warranty. I thought I'd try and take advantage of their claim and low and behold, I easily made arrangements to have a new one exchanged. It took only a week of waiting (back and forth shipping, mind you) and I had a brand spanin' new cable in my possesion. Great customer service!!! |

| ~I bought the MVSV3-1m cable and put it between my Pioneer V555 DVD player and SONY WEGA tv KV-27FS12, I was unable to see with my naked eyes any improvement regading the visual quality, color, sharpness. Same as the result as I used the composite cable came with the box. I really don't know why. I have to say, my TV is a good one and the picture quality is already satisfactory even I don't use DVD player. Unfortunately my DVD player does not have component jack to let me try the next level video~~ experience. I don't want to say this expensive cable is a poor one, I was just unable to verify its alledged ultra high performance. we just don't have a benchmark to evaluate it.~ |

No difference compared to another good cable costing 1/2 as much. Don't believe me - buy and then return it, or just save yourself the trouble. Monster preys on perfectionists. Those people giving such great reviews don't know the difference between an ohm and plastic. |

| Noel Lee's Monster Cable products Inc., come up with the goods here! A cable of stunning, high resolution that snaps the picture into such clarity that you'll think you're watching scenes through a glass window and not through a television/monitor, a bold claim indeed, BUT, quite true never-the-less. I was totally unprepared for such a dramatic change for the better. This cable brings to the viewer ALL the picture, and, yes, that does mean "Warts and all"so, be prepared to see the smallest of detail, like strings and wire that enabled special effects crews to do their work "Un-seen". Who really needs HDTV when cables like Monster's MVS3-1M are this good and can bring a vastly superior standard to an existing television/monitor for only a minute fraction of the cost. Thanks Noel, well done! |

"Allows Potential Of Components To Come Through" | 2001-10-11 |

| These cables will not make your old tired components the equivalent of a brand new DVD player. You will still need a good DVD player and a good TV. However, I found a marked difference in the quality of the video on my TV when compared to the bargain basement cables I originally used. Keep in mind my TV is only two years old and my DVD player is only three months old, and both components are higher end components, so I was starting with a good baseline of equipment. If these cables don't show a marked improvement, consider whether it was the cables or the components. Also, if you are not a picky video viewer, you will probably not think the increased video quality is worth the cost of these cables. |

| I hooked these cables up to my parents Toshibia SD-1600 DVD player. Not only are the cables strong, they also transmit a really clean signal across them. I used the regular cables that came with the DVD player, and when I switched to the Monster S-Video Cable, the image quality improved alot and was very noticable on thier big screen TV. There is one thing I have to say, if you buy these cables, you should get them at Amazon.com since you will not find the cables for this low price anywhere. I paid (too much) for the ones I bought. I wish I had the foresight to get them at Amazon.com when I ordered the DVD player. So when you order these cables, make sure to order the other cables you need. Not only will your video be great, your sound will be too. |

This is from a Fluke 75III meter
Signal induction/crosstalk between conductors = unmeasureable. Signal loss on 2 data wires = ~.05 Ohms from pin to pin. Signal loss on 2 (distinct) ground wires = ~.06 Ohms, pin to pin.
Solder joints (while not entriely pretty) are not cold/flawed in any visible way. The individual ground shielding at one end of my cable was close to contact, but was not touching.
Overall i'm pleased...

"This Product Won't Make Your System Better" | 2000-11-04 |

| This cable will not make your system better. It will allow your system to perform as well as it possibly can. The quality of this product is typical of Monster Cable products. Excellent materials and workmanship are evident throughout. I'm not one to believe marketing literature but I do see a signal improvement with this product over some bargain basement cables. Shielding is important in video cables. Though all S-video cables are inherently shielded by design, Monster goes the extra mile and shields this cable once again. This is overkill but I do feel it is necessary. A 2 meter version of this product shows no appreciable signal loss when directly compared with a 1 meter version. I used to be one of those fanatics who made his own interconnect cables. But I discovered some years ago that Monster Cable interconnects were of at least equal quality for a fairly reasonable price. This mid-range product is well worth the price. You can spend much more and not get that much more. But you are likely to get less if you spend less. |

| Without getting into specific minute details, that to me really make the biggest difference in video, I would absolutely get nothing else in a S video cable, if I were you! There is no reson why you should be watching your DVD movies without the best technology has to offer in transfering the image to your screen. Obviousely I would first recommend a high quality television, and a stellar DVD player as well! Using these cables on anything less would be like using 95 octane gasoline on a Geo (ie defeating the purpose of high performance!) |
