"Sensitive Control on toaster"

| We have used the toaster for approximately one month and are just now learning how to set the control to obtain the desired results. Just a slight adjustment in the control produces a different result. Once we learned where to place the control knob for the various items, the toasting results are very consistant. Toaster Strudels, Pop-tarts, sweet rolls and toast require specific settings to get the desired results. This is not a bad quality - it just takes getting used to. |

The Proctor-Silex 22450 Cool Touch Toaster is not the fanciest toaster on the market, but it does the job. It has two wide slots to allow for
larger slices or bagels and a dial to indicate how dark you want your toast to be. For the money, it's a great buy. |

"It...toasts!" | |

| I bought this item because I wanted a basic, low-cost toaster that would reliably toast bread and bagels. This is exactly what I got. I've had a chance to test it on a variety of breads and bagels, and it works perfectly. I am completely satisfied, and would recommend this product to anyone. It does a better job than toasters costing much, much more. |

"Proctor-Silex is infallible for reliability"

I adore this toaster. I recently stayed at a very ritzy vacation house with an ultra-pricey kitchen setup, including all Jenn-Aire and Cuisinart appliances. All very nice. The Cuisinart toaster, however, despite a slick steel finish and a seemingly endless variety of toasting options, broke after a third use. I realize this may not be indicative of Cuisinart's lineup, however my family has owned simple, basic Proctor-Silex units since the mid-1980s and they have simple never failed. This unit replaced a Silex that was in our kitchen for 14 YEARS. The unit was still functional entirely, just very battered.
If you want fancy, go elsewhere, but rest assured no brand will meet Proctor-Silex's simple functionality. |
