"Sony Stereo Mic" | 2008-07-20 |

My son had one that he used with a Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox III. I borrowed it and used it to record my wife's quartet practices on an HP iRiver. They all love the recording quality. That's tough to do, get them all to agree on a mic. It's traveled around a lot and holds up very well. The sound quality on the recordings is far better than the stereo mic that came with the iRiver or any others we had tried. We've since used it on my sons video camera; again, stellar results from a very affordable mic. |

| I'm a professional piano technician and part-time musician. I use this mic (plugged into a Boss Micro BR recorder) for recording band rehearsals and gigs. It has a very nice clear, "transparent" sound quality and handles high volume levels with no problem. |

"Good for general use" | 2008-02-24 |

| This is a good general use mic. It is not a pro level mic. Having made that distinction, I gave it four stars for being a solid representative of its' class. Works best if you use a mic stand rather than holding it or placing it directly on a surface. |

"great little stereo microphone" | 2008-01-27 |

| For decent portable recording this stereo directional microphone cannot be beat. It has two directionality settings of 90 and 120 degrees. The single AA battery life is practically forever as long as you remember to turn it off. It works best close up however recoding concerts from the audience is also good if you watch your levels and adjust them accordingly. I get many compliments about my recordings. I use it with a Sharp MD recorder and also bought one for a Roland Micro Digital recorder. It comes with a holder/stand which also can attach to a floor microphone stand if you find the right thread which I never have. That might be the only negative. It also comes with a voice/wind cover to muffle air noise. For a little less than a $100 I think it is a good value. |

| Expecter more, that's it. I am a 30-year fan of SONY products but the application of using this mike varies from good to horrible depending on the source of recording. If you hook it up to a mini-disc recorder it'll shine for you for 24-7 but anything else is a let down. There's nothing bad to say about the seller, he did his part. |

"The recorded volume is too low" | 2007-10-22 |

The recorded volume is too low. It is said a separate amplifier is requied. If that's true, why not integrate an amplifier into the microphone case itself? In short this is not a product for computer sound card. Maybe it is good for camcorder, never tried.
Good thing: the recorded sound fidelity is great. Bad thing: Volume is low, so that background noise is obvious. We returend the product. |

I use this microphone for recording all my trainings. I use it with a camcorder, my computer, and a Sony minidisc, and it always does a perfect job. Battery life is good, and sound quality is excellent. It offers a close-range mode that blocks out ambient sounds completely, and also an extended range mode, if you want to pick up sounds within 5-6 feet of you.
It's a great mic at the suggested retail price, and at $73. it is a wonderful bargain. This is the only mic I use. |

| This little mic is amazing. I use it with a minidisc recorder to make reference recordings of live acts (for rehearsals) and the quality is really top notch. I'm curious to use it with my portable Pro Tools rig and I expect the result will be the same. I would have paid twice as much as I did. Way to go, Sony! |

"Great clarity and depth of sound" | 2007-05-13 |

I am VERY pleased with the performance of this microphone. The clarity and the depth of sound is terrific. Used in conjunction with the Sony MZ-R37 Portable Minidisc Player/Recorder, it's perfect for on-the-fly practice and performance sessions; no worries about recording levels or finding the perfect placement of the microphone--a challenge I could never overcome with analog systems. As an amateur acoustic musician who doesn't play or record that often, it's nice not to have to worry about the perfect setup. The microphone, with its two different stereo angle options, offers great flexibility. Your only concern will be blocking OUT sound, like birds in the background or the neighbor's dog, or children jumping on the bed. Worth every penny!
