| I am so glad I bought this. It is by far the best coffee maker I've ever had. Why? the thermal pot. It keeps coffee hot for hours and the last cup tastes as good as the first one. There are some negatives in some reviews about overfilling and the lid. Neither are worries if you follow the instructions and secure the lid carefully you'll be fine and enjoy great coffee, every time. |

I read a lot of reviews about this coffee maker. We wanted a thermal carafe, because we hate burnt coffee. My main reservation was the complaints regarding the overflow. Now that I have it, I can't really figure out why people have the problem. My guess is they overfill the cofee filter with ground coffee, which would slow down the drip process and back up the coffee filter reservoir, as the reservoir fills, grounds would go over the side and then plug the drain that empties into the pot. The drain is tiny, so it wouldn't take much coffee. I don't think overfilling the water reservoir is the problem as there is a hole that is just slightly above the max fill line, so any overage would spill out the back.
Have had it about 2 weeks, and it has worked fine. I rinse the basket after every use and rinse the lid of the coffee pot after every use just to make sure nothing is clogging anything.
Coffee is fine, carafe works, so in my book this is a great coffee maker. We used to have a Krups 10 Cup Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker that finally gave out after 10 years.
Looks good, keeps coffee hot for 8 hours - it does as advertised. If it starts to backup I will let you know. |

Owned this Cuisinart coffee maker for a little over year and it is now almost inoperable.
Right out of the box it was temperamental as it often overflowed coffee and grounds onto the countertop if you were not very very careful to push down the filter all the way and get everything lined up absolutely perfectly -- we even had two sets of guests try to make coffee on their own and they were met with a flood as well (one even bought us another coffee maker as a joke "thank you" gift which we use now while we are searching for another thermal coffee maker).
We bought this because it was programmable -- which we like as my husband and I alternate early mornings (getting up at 5AM) so want to set the coffee the night before --
AND because it had a thermal carafe -- (our earlier programmable coffeemaker did not) which we thought would keep coffee better for the second person.
Needless to say, the programmable feature failed after 5 months or so, and sometime around mid-year the print around the controls on the front of the machine became completely unreadable. And the thermal carafe kept coffee WARM AT BEST - NOT HOT - and the carafe is difficult to pour coffee from, particularly for some of my friends who are of retirement age. |

This machine makes very good coffee. It keeps it fresh and hot all day long. I've used a variety of thermal-carafe coffeemakers over the years, and none keeps the coffee hot as long as this one does.
I've been using this machine for almost two years. I was concerned about the leakage mentioned by other reviewers, so I've always been careful to assemble the parts correctly. I've never had any problems with leaking or spilling. I fill coffeemaker up to within 1/4" of the overflow hole in the water reservoir. The water reservoir isn't removable; I fill it with my pull-out kitchen faucet, which works just fine.
This model met most of my criteria when I was researching coffeemakers. It has a stainless steel thermal carafe, 12-cup capacity, it's programmable, and it's available in white. I would have preferred that the controls be mounted near the top of the machine, but they're at the bottom where they're more subject to spills.
The carafe is very well-constructed. The pour-through lid is nifty, but it's hard to clean. Every so often, it does need cleaning, and it doesn't disassemble completely. The rest of the coffeemaker is not as well-made; not bad, but not great. The buttons and the clock are teeny-tiny. The filter door cannot be removed from the coffeemaker for cleaning.
Would I buy it again? Yes, I think so. It makes very good coffee, and it keeps it fresh and hot.

| I purchased this coffee maker for my daughter. She loves it. She can have her first cup of coffee at 6 a.m. and another later in the afternoon and it's still hot!! It looks beautiful on her dark granite countertop and coordinates so well with all of her other stainless steel applicances. Never any waste of coffee due to bitterness from sitting on the hot plate. You can brew 12 cups and enjoy throughout your day. |
