I think my expectations got in the way of my enjoying this book. Jenna Jameson is the ultimate adult actress, and she is also the consumate business woman. In addition to her looks, she is intelligent, otherwise she would not have risen to the top of the adult industry. So I had hoped to read about how she conquered the industry and rose to the top. There is some of that, to be sure, but the lion's share of the book is how she bounced from one bad relationship to another, always self-destructing and falling back in to some sort of addiction. I expected some of that, but it's pretty much the entire book. I actually ended up feeling really bad for her, even at the end with her new found happiness and new husband and all her success. (Knowing that the second marriage she wrote so fondly of at the end of the book ended in divorce after publication didn't help much, either).
On the bright side, there are a lot of extras in the book that I didn't expect, such as the cartoons and the diary entries. There are also a lot of photographs which certainly add to the overall value of the book.
After reading Christy Canyon's book and Ron Jeremy's book, I guess I expected something a bit more positive. Canyon and Jeremy put a human side on pornography, and I expected the same out of Jameson. But after the drugs and bad relationships, there wasn't much time for that.

Even though this book came out ages ago, I just got the chance to read it for the first time last month. It may sound like a cliche, but I couldn't put it down. In between the chaos that is/was her life and really great writing style of Neil Strauss, this book delivered. My only complaint is that it was written way too soon. At the end of the book, she spoke so highly of her relationship with, then husband, Jay. Since the book was written, as we all know, their divorce was nasty and Jenna went on to find new love and had children. Hopefully there will be a sequel to this book because there is definitely more story to tell.

After watching Jenna Jameson's E True hollywood story and hearing about her book I thought I would go ahead and give it a try. Wow! This book more than surpassed my expectations Jenna doesn't hold anything back from talking about the death of her mother at a young age to her leaving home at the age of sixteen to lead a life that would eventually drive her into the world of porn. This book is raw and real and leaves nothing to the imagination. I recommend this book for anyone who wants a good read I couldn't put it down. In my opinion one of the best biographies out there right now.

I really don't see the value in this book period. First, porn stars get paid to have sex, so what makes them supposedly so sensual? If you think about the premise, to make love like a porn star means having sex as part of a business transaction. Sadly, we admire porn stars thinking they are all sensual and erotic. If you took the money away you think they would still be that "hot?" This book is more an indicement about our voyeristic and puritanical society that is sad.

I bought the book more as a joke, but really ended up enjoying it. It was very interestingly put together - diary pages, interviews, prose. Reading her life story makes me sincerely impressed with what she has made of herself. Whether you agree with porn or not, she is a smart business woman. My only caution for the book is that it is FILLED with pictures - mostly of Jenna naked. And although this thrilled my husband, the little lady who sat next to me on the plane was NOT amused.
