Here is what people are saying about the Cuisinart DCO-24 Die Cast Can Opener
"Still works perfectly after 4 years" | 2009-10-06 |

For many years I had an old US-made Sunbeam can opener that worked quite reliably. However, when it finally died, I discovered that all can opener production had been moved to China, like almost everything else. Before I bought the Cuisinart, I owned a succession of cheap Chinese can openers that all failed shortly after their one-year warranties expired. The last two failures were blade failures -- the blade became so dull that it would not pierce cans. The replacement cost of the blade was about the same as a new cheap can opener.
After reading the Amazon reviews, I decided to try the Cuisinart DCO-24. I bought one in August 2005. It has always worked perfectly, and after four years has been less expensive that the sum of the cheap can openers I would have had to purchase, even without factoring in down time and time wasted shopping for can openers. If it ever fails, I'll buy another just like it. |

| I bought this item from butterflyphoto with no shipping. Item that was sent is refurbished with a 90 day warranty instead of 3 years. I love the can opener, but am angry because I paid for a new item not a refubrished. And they will not answer emails. The can opener is great. |

"Blade/magnet piece broke-replaced free" | 2009-03-11 |

| I bought from Amazon in 2005. The top piece with blade/magnet broke in 2009. I called Cuisinart 800-726-0190 listed in manual (see cuisinart.com/share/man/16_man.pdf) and they are sending a free replacement part! A year after warranty expired. They simply offered the part as a courtesy. I was ready to purchase it. Nice! |

Cuisinart DCO-24 Die Cast Can Opener
I have been using this Can Opener for a couple of years now. It still works great. It's fairly easy to use, and does a great job. It's an attractive item on the kitchen counter. I have had good luck with all my Cuisinart small appliances.
Con: Sometimes the can opener will produce a little "splash" of contents on counter at conclusion of opening cycle. This could be a little smoother. |

My wife and I put forth the cash to buy a durable can opener that matched our kitchen appliances. We thought this Cuisinart Can Opener would last a few years! We were wrong. The can opener broke within 6 months. Now, we have a worthless piece of Cr@p and unopened cans. My wife is pregnant...its the holidays...and this is the last thing I wanted to deal with.
I wish I would have saved my non-electric can opener!! |

"Great can opener" | 2008-05-27 |

| This opener really works well once you get the hang of starting the can under the cutter. Both large and small cans fit under the blade and stay in place after the cutter has made its rounds. |
