I've been using these watches (and their sibling, the 53722) for years, the multiple timers are really useful for me. But for the past few years the battery life just keeps getting worse and worse. The last 2 both died after 3 months. You can't replace the battery, because then the beeper dies. It was a great product in its prime, now I am looking for a replacement. Neither Timex nor Casio seem to have a good replacement with multiple timers.

This is the 3rd Ironman Datalink watch for my husband. They have been more scarce recently so he requested a backup for his current watch #2. The 1st watch connected with the computer via the monitor. When monitor technology advanced to digital displays he had to move to this model which links via USB. The watch has never failed and gets a pretty tough workout in a very corrosive environment. It links easily to a PC to synch with schedules and phone book. Looks professional yet rugged. Lots of timer capability for his work as a chemist. He doesn't want to be without one in the future. The only real drawback is the dedicated watchband which, after several years, has broken. He really likes the metal link style band, but hasn't yet found a replacement. Help me out. Go ahead and buy one! If enough others become hooked on this versatile watch, maybe Timex will still be making them for another 10 years.

This is my 3rd Timex like this. I use to tell time but also carry my phone and address database as well as schedules. Easy transfer from my computer address file. All this at a most reasonable price. Would prefer a less sporty watch.

I purchased this on May 23, 2009. From day one there was a minor problem with the watch, it liked to jump in and out of night mode, everyday at 1330 hours (1:30 pm). Being a minor problem and being unable to fix it while connected to my computer, I lived with it. Today, Oct. 29, 2009 at 1815 hours (6:15 pm), after updating my information, disconnected and went to check my alarms, the display screen displayed "85 10 18" and nothing else. I'm currently unable to restart, change or do anything with the watch. It is now an expensive paper weight. I have been happy with Amazon in the past in this was my first Timex since around 1984. In the morning I will go purchase a Casio Data Bank (which I've used for many years without problems). I admit that I liked the Timex better because you can change the data base, but if it stops working in a few months, I can't use or depend on it.

This is the third Timex Data Link watch I have had. The first (1998?) had very little memory, so it wasn't long before I wanted one that could hold all my contacts, appointments, anniversaries, alarms and timers. When I bought the newer model with more memory, I never was able to use it all. I've added more contacts over time and am still consuming only about 25% of the memory. While I like the watch a great deal and rely on it heavily, the plastic band begins to crack and break after 2 or 3 years. When its band broke, I bought a replacement. Unfortunately, the band has a unique fit to the watch, and it has to be replaced with a specially made band. When this second band broke, I misplaced the watch and had to buy a whole new watch. It has the same larger capacity, but a completely different band, still with the same unique fit. Even though the band is mostly metalic, the metal pieces are connected by the same type of rubbery plastic. I'll have to wait another 2 or 3 years to see if this band lasts longer than the original type.
