We have been using our Zojirushi bread maker for several years. Currently we make about a loaf a day. We have not purchased commercial bread in months.
Sometimes the loafs are not perfect. Who cares the bread is great and as we grind our own wheat it is very nutritious.
You get used to the holes on the bottom and they are a non-issue. We give loaves to our friends and neighbors and they love it.
If things do not work as expected there are suggestions in the manual to resolve possible problems.
Our experience is that as long as there is water, flour, and yeast the bread will turn out. It may be misshapen or not taste quite right (this happens when you forget the salt) but it is always good.

All I can say is WOW! This bread machine IS the best!!!

It is super quiet. The pan doesn't come out. The one-time beeping to add ingredients is short and not "annoying" whatsoever. The pan is easy to clean. The setting options are great. The ability to set the crust to "light, medium or dark" works awesome! The double paddle makes a huge difference in quality.

Don't ever immerse your pan in water - and don't put water into the pan until after it fully cools or it will bend (this is in the instructions).

One word of advice... if you want your bread to come out great - don't SCOOP out the flour. If you SCOOP out the flour you will use too much flour. What you want to do is pour a few pounds of flour into a bowl and use a spoon to sprinkle the flour into a measuring cup. It takes a little extra time but the amount of flour you end up using will be perfect. Don't forget to top off each measuring cup with a knife so the flour doesn't overflow.

Don't use tools that can scrape off the nonstick interior (you shouldn't ever need tools like that anyways).

PS - I've never made bread before. I'm a newbie. I learned so much from everyone here that I wanted to include this info all together for future newbies because these tips really do work!

My only problem is storing the bread - I'm getting bread bags tomorrow from Amazon.

I have purchased the Zojirushi baker nine months ago in the local store. I have made bread twice a week. I set up baking at night and let it proceed. Even though it made noise for making dough, I could tolerate this. I made bread at basic setting and let it proceed for three and half hours because this long hours could make a good swollen bread. I used one and half tsp. of Rapid Rise Yeast. I have used Instant Yeast (Fleischmanns) and highly satisfied with this. Its price is very cheap: 2 packs of one pound each for $7.70. I recommend this bread machine.

When my old Breadman gave up the ghost, my son-in-law passed along his new Breadman Ultimate to me. He had received it as a gift a year earlier, and had used it once. Even though it was new, it didn't work the way it was supposed to; pan would not stay seated, noisy, dark brown crust on the lightest setting, poor texture, etc. Customer service could/would not help because the machine was technically a year old. That turned out to be a blessing, because I bought the Zojirushi BBCCX20, and could not be more pleased. The machine is quiet, the pan stays seated, the bread is well formed with good crust color and texture. I highly recommend the Zojirushi! It has been well worth the extra cost.

This bread machine is nothing short of great. I like the new home bake program. I make an artisian recipe which calls for two rising times with a stretch in between. By programing my own times, I finish faster than with the Zojirushi I had before. With the other machine I had to use the preheat,which I never need, and had to watch the time as the rising time was more than I needed. The old machine was a good machine and made lots of bread for me, I just wore it out. This model is even better. Besides the home bake, I like the loud beep I can hear upstairs if I am sewing, that you can now open the lid without the machine stopping, and it is very quiet. I love it.

A new friend gave me a loaf of her wheat bread she had just made and it was wonderful! She showed me her Zojirushi bread machine and could not say but good things about it. She uses it everyday. She has 9 children and 6 are still at home, so they go through alot of bread! They don't buy bread from the store anymore, since they got the bread machine. That was good enough for me. My husband bought me one and I don't buy bread from the store anymore either. They are wonderful machines! Pat, from Georgia
