"A Great Game For The Kids And For The Family." | 2009-02-28 |

Hello. I am using my grandmothers account. Im a 10 year old boy and i love this game. its a very very great game to buy. It is old that is a fact. But its not about the age. Graphics: This is a ps1 game so its not OMG REALISTIC!! but the graphics for the ps1 are pretty good. the songs banners and backgrounds are styled very well. and the dancers are good as well (My favorite is devil zukin) Gameplay: the gameplay of this game is very simple. there are 4 arrows on your controller. and it is whats called a dance pad. and there are gonna be a timing place for where you hit the arrows coming up. and 2 types of arrows a normal arrow you hit with one foot and 2 notes at the same time and you have to hit them with two feet. Music: I think they have very good songs in this game. most will say that im wrong and that there are no real songs in the game. but who cares?? most of the songs are done by a artist called naoki. he spans alot of ddr artist names. such as 180 for paranoia Over-all: I give ddr konamix for the ps1 a 5 star ranking of fun. and an it is an over all family fun title. the kids will love the graphics. the teens will love the music. and the adults will love the exercise. and there are also other modes such as solo (a mode where the X and O buttons on your dancemat are arrows you have to hit!!!) and work out mode (a great mode where you can set the year of the game. your weight the goal of cal,s you wanna burn. and it shows you how much calories you burnt when your done playing a song!!! how cool is that?) so. if you are a pro at ddr. or a new kid to the dancing. i would say pick it up. another plus is its cheap price |

| I have been a DDR fan since 5th Mix came out in Japan, and I love every moment of it. I've never been one for console gaming (I usually play StepManis or In the Groove on my computer), so the only console I have owned was an old PlayStation (one). Konamix is the latest (relatively speaking) that was released for the PS1, and it's essentially like DDR 5th Mix with some different skinning (More like 1st-3rd Mix than anything). All in all, a fun game. |

| The game works great. It is my first dance dance revolution purchase and the game has a section where it teaches you the basic moves. I tried playing the game before going through this section and it was soooo hard! I recommend trying the lessons before you play the game, it makes it so much easier. Have fun! |

| Good mix for DDR fans, lots of good songs that dont need to be unlocked, including the old BeayMania songs, and some that are harder to find. Graphics aren'y amazing, but fans will agree, the fun in DDR is not the graphics. Background art is surprisingly good for PS1 era. Game DOES lag a bit on PS1 console (not a lot, but noticable to an advanced player), but if you are considering adding this to your PS2 DDR collection, you will be fine. One note: format is very similar to the older StepMania, and songs are arranged in groups, and you can't choose to display all available songs in a single list. Also, if you're looking only for extremely difficult songs, this likely isn't the mix for you. However, if you want old-school DDR songs at a great price, you will like this mix. It IS "NiB" and authentic, complete with shrink-wrap, so check it out! |

"A Great DDR Game for Beginners and for Advanced Users!" | 2007-06-03 |

I purchased this game about a month ago, and its still fun! Bemani has some of the greatest music selections on this game ever! The rate of play and the sweat you produce while dancing is outstandingly rich! For beginners, its a little hard to get into it at first, but thats what the "Lessons Mode" is for. My wife gave up on it too easily, but I have learned it and practiced over and over till I can advance to harder and more challenging songs, as well as using the "Workout and non-stop modes" to burn fat and calories daily for 30minutes. I went from "feet 1" to "feet 4" (referring to the pace of how fast the arrows move on the screen) Note: The easiest mode is pretty much the same as "normal" mode, so dont bother messing with that. Once you pass all the way through lesson 2, and 3, you pretty much can do most songs except for "Feet 5 to 7", which seems impossible right now.
The coolest thing is when you dance a song, you get graded on how well you dance. This allows new songs to be unlocked so yes, there is an incentive to doing "perfect" on a song.
Also for those that are "sight-sensitive" and cannot take background distractions when focusing on the arrows alone, this game has features where you can disable the character and blinking backgrounds so its not so busy looking when dancing and looking at the arrows.
Warning: this game takes "patience" to learn how to play and dance to this game. If you lack the patience and willingness to try this game, then you will not like this game as my wife has proven to me, which was a major disappointment for me since I wanted my wife to enjoy this game as much as I do, still.
The only negative thing I would want to say about this game is the lack of Pop songs that I so wished they had on this second installment. It said they had some Michael Jackson songs, but I have unlocked 12 songs already and still no pop songs whatsoever so.
Overall this game is totaly awesome and so much fun as a solo play and for cooperative play(Yes you need dance pads to play this game) You can use your PSX controller, but its not the same and its impossible to get an "A" grade using a controller, I tried it and you need two feet(LOL)
Great songs to dance to and the song itself gets stuck in your head: Higher Look To The Sky Dont Ever Stop DDR Theme Most Traditional Japanese songs: such as artist name: ORION .78 Drop Da Bomb
And if you have never heard of these songs, as you progress you will learn to love these tunes.
I highly recommend this game and also highly recommend DDR Extreme if you have the Playstation 2 system as well. They have great songs and some repeat song on there that are on this game such as .59 cents.
