Whats there to say about this system...well for one you get great sound, graphics, you can play dvds and unlike the new slimmer version it has a cooling fan so you can play it all day long...like i said ive had mine since it came out and still runs strong and not giving it up...for it being just 'A black box' it can still do the things that the next gen consoles can do like play dvds connect to the internet and still has alot of bad ass games you can still play on it i play God of War and CoD on it and have no problems saying that this system can keep up with the rest of them so to say that 'it is time to get rid of the old PS2' cause the next gen consoles will blow it away well then you havent seen what systmes are still around the PS2 will be around for for a while...maybe one day they will bundle all 3 Playstation consoles then i will have a huge reason to buy...so all i can say for the PS2 Best console since DAY1.

| The ps2 can play dvds and maybe cds, but it's hard because you have to use two hands for a controller, so if I were you I would get a remote. You can get hundreds of games for you ps2 at a great price between 20 and 30 dollars. The only real problem is that the power switch is at the back, the fan is very quiet and it feels like it doesn't pollute. So, if your looking for a system with a great price and great games with lots of fun then get the ps2. |

I've had my original PS2 since 2002 and never had any problems with it. Which is more then what I can say about my first PS3. I bought a 40gig model January 2008 and by December that same year, it stopped reading blu-ray discs and games. I didn't bother getting an extended warranty because I figured it would work forever like my trusty PS2. But boy was I was wrong. Consoles just arn't as reliable as they use to be, I guess. I ended up getting an 80gig model February 2009 and so far I haven't had any problems with this one. *crosses fingers*
So yeah, after all these years I still love my trusty PS2. Even with all the time I put into Killzone 2 and InFamous, I still find time to load up God of War II or Jak 3 every now and then. And after I'm done playing every game on the system, I'll still use it as a dvd player until the day it dies. |

| This is the first ps2 that came out and i like it better than the smaller one. Yes it is much bigger and heavier but it is better and eaiser to hook up to four players and it has a built in fan to cool it off better than the smaller one too. It can sit up on its side too so u can either store it by ur t.v. or put it under something so it is hidden while u play it. Mostly everyone has a ps2 but the graphics on most games were the best when it came out but now it is average. The only thing bad about it is how big and heavy it is and it is had to bring it to places. It was one of the most popular systems made and almost everone has one. |

| I have to admit that no matter what goes on around I can always run to my PS2 and relax... I just started playing video games again and the only Consol I could think about is the PS2. For it's durability and availability of the games I like... |

I bought my PS2 probably about five years ago and I think it's a pretty good system.I know the PS2 has its problems like the graphics are worse than the first Xbox and Gamecube,but the system has a lot of great games.The Xbox quit early because a lot of companies went straight to Sony and Gamecube never really had that many games they did not want any violent games and focus on Gameboy advance and DS.
The best thing about the Playstation 2 is that it has very type of game that is popular like Final Fantasy 10,Time Crisis 2&3,Grand Theft Auto San Andreas,Devil May Cry 1,2,&3,Midnight Club 3, and many other games.I prefer a PS2 over PS3 any day because the point of PS2 is the huge library of games and PS3 doesn't have any games that I want to get. I own every brand console Dreamcast,N64,PS2,Snes,Psone,and Xbox 360 so I am not biased I just like great games that are made well,part of the problem is that the companies take longer to make because they could go out of business if they don't sell enough games so they only release something that will sell something like Halo 3 or Final Fantasy.
Well,I bought an extra Playstation 2 at a used store for $20,if it didn't work I could always use it for parts.The issue with the system is that it had "disc read error" this is so annoying,but my brother and I just took it apart and fixed it,now it reads most of the games.Another problem is that the graphics are dated and some games look bad. Besides the problems it's a nice system if you want awesome variety of great games than pick up a PS2.
