"works great on Refurbished ps2" | 2009-09-27 |

Well I have a Refurbished ps2. And so i bought GameShark2 version 1.3. Now alot of people say not to buy this item. But it has not damaged my ps2 and in no way messed with my ps2 wich I have had for 2 years now and I have had GameShark2 for about a year it has worked great. Mine is badly scratched from usage so it takes awhile to load now. In fact I have it running right now as I write this review. However I have taken GameShark over to a friends house and tried it on a
non-Refurbished ps2 it does not seem to work there. But most of the things I can play on my ps2 will not work on my friends ps2. I have yet to try GameShark another non-Refurbished ps2. But I think if you have a Refurbished ps2 and still play it often then you should get this item. Several of my friends have changed their minds about GameShark. After playing a match with cheats on for the game StarWars Battlefront 2. They agree it is one of the better Cheating items out there. I have yet to update mine and I also think this is a great investment mainly if you get it from a GameStop or EB games, I got it for $20
at GameStop. So that is my review good luck on buying the right item... |

First, if you have the old playstation 2 (not slim and without the network built in)don't buy!!! The disc is undersized compared to a regular disc. You will spend hours attempting to get the disc to read because it has to be placed "just right in the reader." Next, the discs are blue on the bottom and are so delicate if you even think about a scratch, you will have one. And finally, the gameshark website takes 2-5 weeks to update codes for new games. When it works and you have the codes, its great. But that is few and far between sessions. |

This is a really cool product for those who like to play through a game without having to worry about dying and having to replay an entire section. Its also a great tool for getting past very challenging parts of a game. The only drawbacks for this item is the fact that some of the newer games` codes might not work. I retrieved some codes for a fairly new game and took the time to input them manually, only to find out that the codes didnt actually work. Very disappointing. Other than that, this item is fun to use. |

| i've read alot of purchasers saying the gameshark 2 for the ps2 is a bad investment. if you asked me 2 years ago i would have agreed. through owning one original gameshark and all the version up grades (3 so far) i've found that it depends on both the version of your gameshark and your ps2. the first ps2 i bought died a year after i got it, i still don't know what happened but it wasn't the gameshark, it was hardware. the second one has last a year and is running great even with a gameshark plugged in all the time. be smart, read as much as possible on every purchase, and ask the people who own them and you can get the right information to figure out if this is an investment you're willing to make. point 1: the first two gameshark 2 versions were crap. the stalled out all the time, erased your memory card, and never played any code except the ones from the factory. version 3 was the first one with the keyboard and had absolutely no problems. point 2: the people that say the codes don't work now are using version 4 codes on a version 3 gameshark, more than likely. if you want something to stay away from i can give it, the non-sony memory codes are worthless, they will erase your memory when taken from their ports. there, i've given alot of ideas on what to do to keep your bum covered, have a great day. |

Let me just say this once...RIP OFF! Games can be hard at some points, and its sometimes hard to get the most coolest weapons, items, etc. Well, O.K. but, thats why there are strategy guides. Gameshark gave me alot of codes to get my HP and MP higher, also weapons, items, and I finally killed Evrae on Final Fantasy 10. But listen to this, I had this game shark for about 5 to 6 months and yeah that does seem along time but... 1.) I put the gameshark disc into the PS2 2.) It started to load...then said DISC READ ERROR After that I took the disc, cleaned it and the PS2 but still didn't work after that. SAVE YOU MULA ON SOMETHING ELSE THAT W O R K S for your lifetime! Oh, excuse me I left something else... it ERASED my important battle skills and my peoples HP. And when I tried to beat this one boss, it had more HP then its suppose to be. Like the bosses HP was suppose to be 100,000 when it turned the HP into MAYBE atleast a million! |
