Here is what people are saying about the Final Fight One
4 Star Rating  "Quite possibly the definitive version of Final Fight"2008-04-07

Pointless to review a game that hasn't been available in years, but oh well. I shouldn't have sold my copy...

I've come to believe that Final Fight One is probably the definitive version of Final Fight.

-Mighty Final Fight (NES)-too hard, doesn't really play that well (and obviously the visuals and music aren't up to par)
-Final Fight (Arcade-also emulated on Playstation Portable/Playstation 2, etc.)-the second worst music (behind the NES version), and lacks the nice interface and extras of the other versions.
-Final Fight (SegaCD)-one of the best versions. Enhanced in quite a few ways from the arcade version, and nothing's been cut.
-Final Fight/Final Fight: Guy (SNES)-Probably my third favorite version. A few things are altered and cut do to memory constraints (including the most dull level in the game, and one of the three characters). Music is enhanced substantially over the arcade version, and overall I like this better than the arcade.

-Final Fight One (GBA)-Now we get to why I think this one may even be better than the SegaCD release (at least as a single player game). Visually it's very close to the other versions. Better in some ways, though apparently a few light effects were cut that were in the SNES game. The music isn't quite as good as the SNES release, but still vastly superior to the arcade one.
Beyond being portable, the other big improvement is this version has the most single player content. There are a decent number of unlockables that you get basically just for playing through the game. Most significantly, Cody and Guy from the Street Fighter Alpha incarnations are fully playable characters with completely different art and somewhat different fighting styles-essentially giving this release 5 fully playable characters.

4 Star Rating  "It's portable Final Fight. What else do you want?"2006-03-07

When I heard about the idea of Game Boy Advance several years ago, it was described as a 'portable SNES'. Instantly, the thought crossed my mind of playing some of my favorite SNES games again, or maybe have some of them re-done and touched up a bit. That's exactly what's been done with Final Fight One, which is a lot more true to the arcade game than it is the SNES game from 1990. Everyone by know exactly what the game is and what it entails. The question is, did they pull it off for GBA? The answer is, hell yeah they did. Not only has the game transitioned perfectly, they added some hilariously goofy cut-scenes before every boss battle, complete with dialogue like "I will beat your face in!" followed by "Shut up!". The game as a whole feels a lot more... Capcom-ish, with updated artwork, graphics and menu screens. But the gameplay is the same old Final Fight, and I couldn't be happier.

I could finished this as soon as I was given it, since I started playing it straight away, but my boyfriend had other ideas. I managed to get to the fifth level (I think), before this arm came over my shoulder and switched it over. The next time I tried to play it, could I get past the fat police guy who had a gun?! Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! And who are we blaming for that?

I think I definitely prefer beat-em-up games (or racing, but I'm rubbish at them) to any other, cos if you're in a seriously bad mood, then you get to take all your frustrations out on this. I didn't use the special move button much - to be honest I forgot about it a lot - but it wasn't really necessary, as some simple punches were enough to get rid of the bad guys. Some, sure took a little longer, but they will eventually die.

What I do find bad with these games is the bad guys rarely change. Most of them are easy to dispose of, and it gets slightly boring when they come at you constantly. I hated the guys who looked like chavs (OK, so you Americans aren't gonna know that name - guys who wear hooded tops, hang around street corners, think they're hard, just to generalise it) with names like Jay & Billy I think? They were just too quick to move about for me, as I found it really difficult to move up or down, as the bad guys normally went the opposite way!

I did manage to get to the last level of this game, but unfortunately got a game over before getting very far. I could have finished it on my first try, given half a chance though! I enjoyed the game, squealing every time I killed a bad guy, although it does get slightly repetitive. And I liked playing as Cody? He looked GOOD in those jeans!

If you're a Streets of Rage or Double Dragon fan then Final Fight will no-doubt appeal to you. I only ever played it in the arcade once about 13 years ago but I was a cool game indeed. This Gameboy Advance version is identical to the Arcade but with a few more touches added such as new cut-scenes and animations and a couple of hidden levels.

Since I am such a wimp when it comes to games I did complete this on my fourth go (on the easiest setting) but I did notice a LOT of similarities between this and SOR in regards to the baddies, level progression and power-ups. That's not a bad thing but I only wish it lasted a little longer. Still it's a cool game and definitely worth getting.

This is an excellent game from the late 80's and the gameboy port is about 99% exactly like the arcade version. The 1% that's inaccurate are the changes of the female fighter into the male fighter Sid/Billy and that when Haggar grabs an enemy...he holds them by the upper arms/shoulders. In the arcade version he grabbed them around their necks! That male fighter has the exact same moves as the female but was changed for reasons unknown to me. This is a great game and worth your money if you loved this in the arcades back in the day.

This game ROCKS!!!

I played this game about 11 years ago on SNES but it didn't have Guy as a character choice (you had to purchase either final fight Guy for the SNES or Final Fight CD for the Sega CD) The game remains faithful or close to the arcade version names of the bad guys are the names used in the arcade and not the SNES version. The car smashing bonus gane is included and there was another but it escapes me at the minute. I have the game boy player for the cube and it looks good on a 29" screen. I think if you have not played final fight one you should the price is under $20 and it is fun I also think the graphics even edge out the old snes version. A recommended buy
