"Fun game despite it's limits" | 2008-03-17 |

| Despite that it came out a few years ago it's still a fun game to play for GBA Despite it's limits you have to understand what hardware the GBA has which is an advanced 32bit version of the SNES hardware which is still more powerful then all the hardware combined that sent the space shuttles to the Moon so lets not gripe on the hardware side but this version of Sim City plays ok but i would not give it to the kids they might get frustrated i am 26 years old and had a time with it at first till i got use to the controls i rank it with Sim City DS which i also give a 4star rating over all good to have in your collection if you like the Sim City games and not the crappy Sim series of games |

"Fun for those who know the Game" | 2006-02-20 |

| I recenty picked this game up for $10 at Costco. I have always loved the sim city games. So i figured how bad could it be. And if you know what you are doing and like Sim City for the computer its pretty similar. I've actually filled the map and just had to stand around and watch my money grow. Its all in your tactics. For what I paid for this game I am very happy, and find myself playing the game often. |

| When I first saw this game I was excited because I loved playing SimCity 2000 on the Sega Saturn. Unfortunately, instead of just downsizing and porting the game to the Gameboy Advance, they added stuff from the newer SimCity games. The controls aren't that good and the manual tells you nothing - which is that way for pretty much every EA game so no surprise there. It still is mildly entertaining for about a half hour or forty-five minutes at a time. If you were hoping for this game being like the older SimCity 2000 games on the Saturn or the Playstation, you will be somewhat disappointed with this game. |

"Stick with the PC versions..." | 2004-12-03 |

When I first heard about Sim City 2000 on the GBA, I thought dang that should be pretty sweet. Then I realized that in actuality, the game would probably be pretty lousy due to the small screen and limits of the GBA. Still I decided to pick up a copy anyways but it wasn't worth the $20.
As some have said, yes the game can be fun for a short period of time but then you'll most likely never get the urge to play it again. Doing some simple tasks in the game proves to be a bigger chore than in other versions and the cities you create feel empty and lifeless. However, if you've got lots of time on your hands and don't mind some of the neater additions of the pc versions missing along with some slowdown when disasters occur, then you will probably enjoy this game. |

"Not your ordinary GBA game though runs sluggish." | 2004-06-15 |

| Finally, a game for the GBA system that cannot be beaten in one day. The possibilities are endless. Great for those long trips. My only complaint is that at times, during certain scenarios, there seems to be too much going on for the cartridge to handle. I thought playing it on the gamecube using the gameboy player would solve this problem but it didn't. Can be quite frustrating when fires are breaking out and the cursor just doesn't want to budge. |

"Pretty Good" | 2004-01-13 |

All things considered this is a very good copy of the PC game. Pros: Nice graphics, fairly easy controls, lots of features (like disasters) can be turned on/off individually or or all turned on/off. Construction is easy, and described well in the instructions. Cons: Eye strain (headache) from the dark screen (you need pretty good light for this one.) No cars driving around, no people in the stadium, or a train running around town. When you're zoomed out far enough to see the whole city, there is very little detail. When zoomed in to see the streets and buildings, it's a pain to scroll all over the place to see other parts of the city. (Guess you can only do so much with a portable.)I find the game to get a little boring after awhile, but I felt the same way about the PC version. The instructions could offer more advice about running the city. Even though I'm not a "Sim-Head" I find it interesting enough to recommend. This would be a great buy if you love Sim City. |
