This is a great charger when you're travelling. Just pack and go. It doesn't have any wires so you don't have to worry about knotted cords. However, you'll need to pack in a firewire cable (which came with your iPod) so that this will charge the iPod.
Keep in mind that this is the Firewire version, which supports all iPods up until last year. Therefore, you can charge iPod Touch 2G and 3G, nano 4G and iPhone 3G/3GS. Why? Because Apple dropped the pins from the dock adapter that recognizes firewire. If you have any of the new devices, you'll need to get the USB adapter.
I use this infrequently now as I have multitude of docks. However, when I travel, I take this beauty. It comes with 3 prong adapters so it can work in other countries that don't use 2 rectangle prongs.

i mean it would work maybe if i had the wire for it other than that good product the description should say with out wire.........
Yep, when I lost my iPod charger last year I lost this part too. I really like to keep it in my travel bag so I can charge my 'Pod when I'm on the go. At home my 'Pod lives in its Bose speakers. On the go, the 'Pod goes with the charger.

It sucks that my ipod requires a firewire usb cord and a firewire power adapter, however, at least something worked! This solved my ipod issues. It arrived quickly and served it's purpose! Very happy w/ it.
