"Love it! Best core exerciser that I've ever used" | 2009-09-25 |

Core workouts have always felt boring to me. I've never much enjoyed sit-ups or crunches or doing endless minutes of Planks. Last year I discovered the Bosu ball and have been liking my core exercises a lot more since. The concept is simple: balancing on the ball while doing other exercises like curls or dead lifts forces you to constantly adjust and simultaneously works your legs, back, and stomach even when doing an arm or shoulder workout. That is just one of the applications of the Bosu ball.
Another great technique is to use the flat surface as a platform for push ups, or as a modified roving plank exercise where you roll in the ball in a circle while keeping your lower body and abs stationary. This is a great way to tone the stomach and is far more engaging than sit-ups or generic stationary plank.
The third excellent use is as a balance/stability trainer. You can either balance on the flat side or do lunges unto the ball surface to train your feet and ankles. Since you can only lift what you can stabilize, these routines are a wonderful addition to a traditional weight training routine and will see your lifts increase rapidly as your ancillary muscles catch up to your primary movers.
The home version of the ball seems just as good as the professional versions we have at my health club. Both my wife and I use it regularly and we've never had a problem with it deflating or even losing air. This is a seriously great piece of fitness equipment as versatile as it is well made. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to mix up their routine or for those wanting better stability and core strength. |

"Love the Bosu!" | 2009-09-14 |

| I learned to use the Bosu Balance Trainer when working out with a fitness trainer in a health club. I am now working out at home; I enjoyed the Bosu so much while at the club that I decided to buy one for home use. It's amazing: it allows you to "multitask" while exercising, combining balance, core work, and muscle development (if you lift free weights while using it). It also has amazing effects on the brain...it makes you feel that you have found brain cells you haven't heard from in a while. It's versatile and creative! Get one! This home version is just fine...no need to go with the professional one. |

"Great for balance and core training, and everything else" | 2009-08-13 |

I was introduced to the BOSU during physical therapy, and another patient at therapy was so amazed by my progress while using it that she actually bought one for me and asked the therapists to give it to me, so she could remain anonymous. Nothing else in that physical therapy office came close to helping as much as this did. I guess that was obvious.
A year later I'm still using it, but now I use it for just about everything. It's great flat side down for step aerobics, instead of a step. It works my core, but better than that it cushions the impact, which I couldn't otherwise tolerate with injured knees.
I use it flat side up (which I think the instructions say you shouldn't do, so insert disclaimer here,) with the New York City Ballet Workout. Plies are out of the question for me, but the other exercises done in place become more challenging on the BOSU. I'll stand with one foot in the center for ballet, or with two feet at the edges and body centered to just watch a movie and use hand weights. Staying balanced engages the core, and for me it's also teaching me how to be balanced again, something I've had problems with after an accident.
Just about any exercise you can do on a flat surface can be done on a BOSU, and it becomes more challenging, more interesting, and more fun. (Don't tell anybody about that... it's very hard to get sympathy for all your hard work if folks know it's actually fun.) |

| Excellent product, no problems with material, stays in place (no sliding or shifting). Well made, takes up less space than a balance ball and has two handles for easy transporting. |
