This paper definitely is the best we've ever used. I cannot vouch for other photo printers or combinations of cameras, etc. But we used this Canon pro paper with a Canon photo printer, and Canon digital camera, and the prints came out FANTASTIC! They looked true to life, and as good as professional photo lab prints. I definitely recommend this pro paper over the others, as the inks look better on it than the regular (cheaper) papers. I would have given it 5 stars if I didn't have to wait so long for shipping!
I thought I'd climb on the band wagon with everyone else and sing the praises for this paper. I've used Kodak, Epson and HP papers and this paper takes the cake! I print with the Canon Pixma ip6700D and the images produced on this paper are "processed photo" quality even when viewed with a 10x lupe. The cost is a bit high, but the wow factor is worth it. Great gloss and shine.
"very good paper"

I hate to fall into the marketing spin, but in my experience it really is true that Canon printers produce much nicer photos with their own paper. I'm very happy with this paper, my digital photos look great. I use a Canon Pixma MP 600.
You'll notice right away that there are many different varieties of photo paper. At first thought, you go for the cheapest. That's fine for general sharing pictures or seeing how an edit came out. But it you want to keep a photo-quality picture and put it in an album or even in a picture frame, buy the Pro Photo Paper. The colors are so much brighter and sharper. I have a Canon PIXMA MP960 All-In-One Photo Printer so stuck with the Canon Pro Photo paper. (*GREAT* printer, by the way.) Everyone that sees my pics, is AMAZED at the quality. Highly recommend you pay the money and get the better paper. Otherwise, why bother printing it out? Just pay an online service.
If you've got a Canon printer (I've got the MP500) and use Canon ink, you really can't beat the PR1 (Photo Paper Pro) line for top quality prints.
I live in Japan so I have to order this 4x6 paper from the States, but over here I buy PR1 paper in every size I print (mainly A4, LL and L) ... I've tried various other brands but nothing beats PR1 in producing consistently accurate, detailed, and beautiful prints. One of the nice things about PR1 paper is that you can very easily proof your setup in Photoshop if you're using a Canon printer; you can download profiles from Canon's website and use them in Photoshop, so you can see exactly what your prints will look like on THIS paper and YOUR printer. Once you've got it set up, just press CTRL+Y to proof, add a level/curve adjustment layer to tweak contrast, etc and print! Very simple, and the results are no less than stunning.
It may be expensive, but for printing at home on a Canon printer, you can't beat this PR1 paper.
