The photos/drawings are simple, so young readers can focus on what's going on (and you can ask questions like "Where's Trixie?" or "Where are the going?" etc).
And the text is easy for young ones to understand/follow (my daughter was about 15 months when I first read this to her; she's now 25 months old). More importantly for parents, it's cute and witty.
I most definitely recommend this book. In fact, I buy it for all my expecting parents friends (as well as a gift off the registry, of course).

This book is hysterical and has fantastic illustrations! My 3 year old LOVES it. This makes a great gift for a new parent.
Very entertaining for both child and parent. My 16 month old daughter loves it -- she especially likes the big eyes and faces on some of the people. I like the story and the black and white photos. It's also a nice change to have a kids' story in an urban setting.

The Sepia-tone photographs of a Brooklyn neighborhood provide the backdrops for the hand-drawn artwork in this book - it is really an adorable and humorous combination. The personalities of each family member are ones in which you can easily relate, making the book that much more adorable and fun!
In every way, this is a very cute book! Our children, ages 4 & 2, ask for this book over and over again. They laugh every time we read it and run around the house yelling "Knuffle Bunny . . . .Knuffle Bunny".
This book is very quickly becoming a family favorite which I am sure we will pull from the shelf over and over again for years to come. I am so happy we bought it and will recommend it to all of our friends.

In this story, the main characters are color drawings that inhabit a world of black and white photographs. The images alone would make this a great book. However, the story is also great too. It has entertained many young children (as well as their parents) in our house. It provides many avenues for expressive reading and exhibits all of Mo Willems' wit and style.
None of my friends warned me that this book is dangerously addictive.
It started off innocently enough. When I brought it home, our 20-month-old daughter was curious as she always is whenever she reads a new book for the first time. I was captivated as well by the combination of illustrations against photos of Brooklyn (where we live). As we went along, our daughter started to cry when she saw how upset Trixie was -- big tears and bawling from both little girls. All was well when Trixie was reunited with her Knuffle Bunny; our daughter laughed and grabbed her cherished giraffe.
Then she wanted to read it again, and again, and again...It has been a week since we got Knuffle Bunny and we've read nothing else. She started asking for "Nuff Bunny." Now it's "Trixie! Trixie!" as soon as she gets up in the morning. Last night, I had to resort to hiding the book and pulling out as many old favorites as possible. After reading Knuffle Bunny 15+ times a day (with my daughter going to daycare 9 hours a day 5 days a week), I feel I must caution parents about this book!
Mo Willems has created an exceptional book that taps perfectly into my child's world, from trying to make herself understood to her love for her "Raff" to her anxiety when Raff is seemingly lost ("Trixie crying!") to finding Raff again ("Hug Bunny").
I will be buying this book as presents and slapping a warning label on it.
