"Very Good for Price, but Not Perfect" | 2008-09-30 |

I actually bought this at Macy's. When on sale there, it's the same price. The reviews for this and all steamers were so erratic that I wanted the convenience of returning it to a store if it underperformed.
That won't be necessary. I'm very pleased with the job it does, especially for this price (I paid $49 at the time). It generally gets tough wrinkles out of all types of fabrics with a lot less effort than ironing. It doesn't press clothes and you don't get that crisp look you would get with an iron, but it does a great job of smoothing out the wrinkles. Filling the unit seems easy enough and it is ready to use in less than a minute.
Overall, I would still buy this steamer at this price, but here are its probelms that I struggle with a little: - It's hard to get the clothes at the right height to work on them. With the pole all the way up, I still find myself stooping over too much to deal with the lower portions of my shirts. If have my shirts on a hanger that I place over the door or on a shower curtain rod, than it's too high for the hose to reach the top portions. - You really need to empty the machine after every use. Otherwise, you get the issues that others describe. Filling it is easy enough. Draining it isn't that hard and still a lot simpler than dealing with an iron and board, but I wish I could just leave it filled. It would be nice to have it always ready to go. I suspect this is an issue with all steamers. - Another item under the heading of "it probably happens with all steamers", it draws so much power that the lights in the room dim making it hard to see what you're doing. - I wish the unit was more stable. When working on a shirt hanging from the top of its tall pole, it's easy for the unit to either move with you or even tip a little. I can't imagine it falling over or anything, but it makes working with your clothes a little harder than it could be.
I took more time with the negatives than the positives so you know what problems to consider. As I said, though, all things considered, an excellent steamer for the money and I would purchase it again.

"Short and light weight" | 2008-09-10 |

I've had this steamer for one year. It works fine and the price is okay for the quality. I would steam a lot more, more frequently if it were easier to use. If you plan to steam weekly, spend more money. (My husbands shirts referred to are not oxfords, but rather light woven cotton short sleeved button downs some plaids, some dobby.)
1) It's too short. I'm 5'8" and the top of the extending bar is at my eye level. The tops of clothes hangers are a few inches below that and the shoulders of the shirts are even further down. The hems of my husbands shirts are below my knees. This makes it difficult to do the job. Not only am I bending over and getting steam in my face and burning my hand but also the steam condenses in side the tube (the popping sound) making the steam less powerful.
2) It's too light weight. Better de-wrinkling of clothing takes a bit of tension as you steam. Some fabrics need quite a bit of tension, like my husbands shirts, while other really should not be pulled at all, like my loose weave linen pants. This machine is very light, it will tip over before it rolls toward you. It's impossible to get good tension on my husbands shirts.
At this point I don't regret spending the money because it's so cheap compared to others and I haven't had time or been organized enough to focus on my wardrobe the way I would like. So the fifty or so garments I've steam have been worth the one dollar per garment I spent on the machine. |

| I got this for my lodging business and the steamer was working hard 5 minutes after it was delivered. I have since steamed many items and found it works great for the price. I really like how quick it is ready to steam. |

| So far it's good. Bought for my wife. She has used it several times and think its fine. She may still have to iron some pants, but it works on everything else she has used it on. Right now, we are very satisfied. |

| I had read the reviews before buying so I wasn't surprised by it. The steamer works ok but is definitely not a replacement for ironing. I don't think it will replace dry cleaning either as it failed to remove odor - as a matter of fact because of the steam, the odor became more pronounced. But the price wasn't bad and my expectations were low. |

I like it. It is simple to use but: 1. For some reason it will reset itself several times 2. it is not very stable when hangin clothes on its own pole 3. The steam is not very strong, so it takes a while to work on a shirt |

The Home Touch steamer works far better than expected.
It heats up quickly, and is great for touch ups and to remove wrinkles and creases. I have used it on clothing, drapes, and bedding and am completely satisfied, especially given the low price.
Other reviews had mentioned water "spitting" and that clothing hung on the garment hook cause the unit to tip. This has not occured in my use of the product.

| This is the second garment steamer I've purchased (I accidentally broke the hose off of the last one after years of good use). This works well and keeps me from getting out the iron on most things. I've bought two, so I do recommend it. |

| I've used it 3 or 4 times and it gets the job done. The rod is a little flimsy, but for the money, it's a good value. It gets the wrinkles out, so I'm happy with it. If you want sturdiness, pay more for a professional grade. |
