Here is what people are saying about the Tanita Digital Lithium Scale, Model HD-372
"Not so hot" | 2009-06-26 |

It frequently fails to zero saying Err then you have to try again and again sometimes up to seven times to get it to work.
It also varies by 1-3lbs every time I use it, even if I don't move it, regardless of if I re-zero between uses. Sometimes it's off by over 100lbs. It gets REALLY wacky if you don't stand with your weight perfectly in the middle every time, say leaning forward slightly to look down. I've resorted to just weighing 3 times in a row an averaging it.
Sometimes it will just turn on and then not turn off, other times it refuses to turn on.

"Inconsistent Readings" | 2009-03-14 |

| We've had this scale for over a year. My son (~115 lb) has been using it for the last several months and we've found that it has not been consistent, especially in the past few weeks. Even when placed on a very hard tile floor, rather than a linoleum floor, the readings vary by as much as 2 lb with repeated measurements, depending on the "mood" of the scale. |

"One of the best scales" | 2009-01-14 |

The Tanita HD372 is my favorite. It looks nice, it's very easy to read, and it's heavy and durable.
The accuracy is fantastic ... with one exception. Put new batteries in the unit and you can weigh yourself over and over again with dead-on accuracy. But as time goes on and the batteries begin losing their strength ... so too does the accuracy of the scale begin to go away.
I've had my scale for two years now. I love how accurate and reliable it is with new batteries. But months later, it get's frustrating getting different results with each use.
Overall, I still think this is the best digital scale for the home. |

"Not what I expected from Tanita" | 2008-12-05 |

For all of the Tanita reviews I've read, I thought I was getting the Cadillac of scales. While it does weigh me and appears to do so accurately, the on off function (tapping the surface with your foot) doesn't work right anymore. I find myself lifting the front end with my toes and dropping the unit to get it to come on. Then, in other moments, I'll be brushing my teeth and catch it coming on out of the corner of my eye. When I turn to look, it is initializing and displaying an error. No wonder the first battery lasted so little time.
With this kind of behavior, this scale is not worth the price. |

"works like a scale" | 2008-03-11 |

| I may not like the reading on the scale, but it is accurate. However, the nobs on the bottom tend to fall off quickly and then you have to find THE PERFECT spot on the floor to make sure the scale is level otherwise you will get an improper reading. |

"Works Perfect" | 2007-08-19 |

| I've owned one for almost two years and have never had a problem with it. It is always accurate because I check it with calibrated doctor's scales. I get on it before I go to the doctor and it is dead on with theirs everytime. Well worth the money. |
