I was perfectly satisfied with this watch, until I got it wet. I wore this 'water resistant to 100ft' watch in less than 6 feet of water for a few minutes and enough water got into the watch to obscure the face with condensation and cause it to stop working until it dried out. I wasn't looking for a watch to go scuba diving, but I am not the kind of person who likes to worry about getting my watch wet and unless you are, I recommend steering clear of this one. I understand that water resistance is somewhat relative, but there is a big difference between 'water resistant to 100ft' and 'safe to wear while washing your hands'. This watch is definitely not the former and I have my doubts about the latter in the long term.
Given two stars because it is an attractive watch for a small amount of money if you live in the desert.
Oh, and regarding one of the other reviews: whatever jeweler couldn't adjust the band must have been completely incompetent, because it adjusts just like 99% of watches with link bands (I adjusted mine myself).

I love this watch. It's light, it's visually simple and elegant, it goes well with dressier outfits or casual outfits, and it does what I need: it tells time. No extra bells and whistles cluttering it up.
As one other buyer commented, the band is difficult to adjust. There are long pins holding each link in place. The pins have to be pushed out. I had a jeweler do it. They have a tool specific for that purpose. Only cost me $10.

I researched the price on this watch all over the internet and Amazon had the lowest price. It was due for delivery on 1-5-08 and I received it on 1-2. It is a beautiful watch, slim design and just my taste. This morning I took it to have the band adjusted and it took all of 2 minutes at a local watch repair shop (was charged $6 for this). Could not have been a better shoping experience...and the shipping was free...

This is the second Skagen watch I am buying for my husband and he loved both of them. The slim design looks really chic, plus it truly is a gorgeous watch. His first one lasted about 4.5 years and after the second battery change started going behind, so I gave him this one for Christmas. He loves it and you can get the wristband adjusted for free in any department store which carries the brand (I know for sure Von Maur and Nordstrom). They use special tool to take links of the wristband so I wouldn't recommend attempting to adjust it yourself.

Beautiful watch but it came without instructions to adjust the wrist band. I contacted Skagen but they could not email any instructions for wrist band adjustment. One jeweler could not figure out how to adjust the band but recommended another jeweler. I have not got there yet. So my Skagen watch looks beautiful in its case.
