I love this album! I got it for my sister. She really likes it as well. I don't understand why so many people trashed it. Yes, there were several non-english songs, but oh...the music and That Voice!
He just keeps getting better and better. |

Wow, I'm glad I listened to the commenters over at YouTube in choosing to purchase this DVD/CD, it's quite negative hereabouts! I have no beefs with the sound quality, JG's clothing, lightsticks, or flags! I have enjoyed watching the evolution in Josh's stage presence: he was just lovely in the first concert DVD, but it was very controlled and didn't reveal much about him. I love his personality and varied tastes, and how they started to come through on this first tour. The clips I've seen from the "Awake" tour show even more of that personality, I can't wait for that DVD. I would have given this another 1/2 star for the wonderful violinist that is Lucia Micarelli, she is a wonder to behold! I do agree that the first few songs were a little nasally, it's really too bad Josh was unwell and just goes to show that life isn't perfect, even for him! The nasal tone does go away as the concert goes on (maybe the medicine kicked in.) All in all, highly recommended... |

Important Note: With this DVD, you can only change the audio from the menu, just choose: 'Set Up'. I listened in Dolby 2.0 stereo (still very good), but it has DTS and Dolby 5.1 surround stereo, as well. It cannot be changed while the DVD is playing the concert.
I'm only a moderate Josh Groban fan, but didn't hear anything nasal in his performance of the songs done in English. I only listened to some of the Italian ones, but still thought they were fine.
Yes, I enjoyed many more songs (and the staging) from his first DVD, but I really enjoyed at least three of the English songs, and the barefoot violinist, Lucia Micarelli on this one. Plus, the bonus behind the scenes featurette, of his 2004 summer tour (20.5 minutes long), was also good. Although, I didn't care for the bonus song, "Believe", from the "Polar Express" movie, because some scenes from the movie were thrown in. It ruined (ughh!-a cartoon version of Tom Hanks) the otherwise nice song...for me, anyway.
However, the real star of this widescreen DVD, is 20 year old, violin enchantress, Lucia Micarelli. Check her out during "Mi Mancherai" (chapter 4) and her 6 minute violin solo (chap. 8) consisting of: "Nocturne" (with piano), and then "Bohemian Rhapsody", with both piano and band accompaniment. Simply, amazing!
I'm not really a classical fan, but she's great! 3 star Dvd without her, but 3.5 stars with her. However, since Amazon allows no half stars, I'll round it up to 4 stars, because of the glow sticks. :) |

| Josh Groban has one of the most amazing voices of all time. It is shown off exquistely in this concert. He shows his diversity between languages, instruments and of course, his delightful personality. My son who is just 3 has been watching this DVD non stop since he was about 6 months and I've never tired of it. Josh is simply amazing and any fan should have this live performance in their collection! Having just seen him live in concert in Hershey, NOTHING can compare to his passion and energy live, but this DVD comes as close as you can get! |

I recently saw Josh on his new tour with Awake, and it was so awesome that inspired me to buy this DVD to replicate the experience a little bit. I loved it! Especially loved the few extra songs I've never heard before (Mi Morena, America). Some people were complaining about the nasal sound and quality, but this is a live show so of course it sounds a little different. Bottom line is I think Josh is a great preformer and his very funny also :)

| This CD/DVD was very good. I watched the DVD and was impresed with the way He handles the "spot light." He seems to be a very humble person and I think that is what makes his music so enjoyable to listen to. Not forgetting his awesome voice! |

There are several reviews that talk about how annoying it is for the fans to wave light sticks and/or American flags in this DVD. Perhaps if I explain why, it will seem less annoying.
The waving of the light sticks was started at the very beginning of his first tour, mainly to show him how much the fans appreciated the concerts. The first idea was to wave them during the last verse of "You Raise Me Up," when the choir came out. Later, fans added another show of support by waving blue light sticks during "Vincent (Starry Starry Night."
OK, if you still find that annoying, that's your right. However, the flag waving at the end of "To Where You Are" was special. This concert was filmed on September 11, and the flags were waved at the end of "To Where You Are" for those who were lost, and the families of those who were lost, on 9/11/2001.
It's your right if you still find these things annoying. I just thought I'd try to help you to understand.
Since this is a forum for giving our opinions of the DVD, I have to say that I love it. He has a beautiful voice and I love listening to him under any circumstance. The DVD is wonderful, IMHO. |

| Was fortunate enough to attend Josh's "Closer" concert tour date at Jones Beach--amazing voice. Getting this album brought back all of the memories of that amazing evening outdoors under a "Starry, Starry Night." I used to not bother purchasing live albums because they had poor audio quality, but not anymore. Love this album! (Actually, I love all of his stuff.) |

| I disagree with some of the reviewers complaining about a nasal sounding CD. Yes, there are few parts where it may sound a little nasal but people have to remember that this a LIVE concert and if they wanted perfect sound they should buy the studio album instead. He still sounded brilliant and great. The DVD is fantastic for all those who don't have the luck or means to attend a Groban concert. It captures the energy and pure joy of a concert. Sometimes its even better than being at the concert because you can see Groban close up. I hope that there will be a concert DVD released for the AWAKE concerts. |
