I found this book at my local supermarket of all places and its a jewel: every dish has a gorgeous serving photo and every recipe I have tried (== lots) has so far been a winner. Purviance goes into a good but not overly lurid technical detail about what you are and shouldn't be doing when grilling. The recipes are straightforward and keep to a fairly consistent set of staple ingredients. I have wished at times there was a bit more recipes for tri-tip in there, but overall the cuts and types of meat used are a pretty wide survey and each common cut is touched on at least once in the book. He's done the cook a favor by breaking out rubs and sauces used in some of the recipes into their own section so you can mix and match and as a result, nearly everything coming out of my kitchen in the last month has had a bit of pork rub thrown on it. Nothing bad to say about this book: I consider it as fundamental to the kitchen as "The Joy of Cooking".

Weber Grill Books are very good!! This is another good one. My only criticism is for the lack of nutritional analysis to accompany the recipes.

This is a good grilling book.

The recipes are reasonably simple. The book is high quality with good photos and an excellent variety of dishes.

Most people find their favorite way of grilling various meats like chicken or pork, and then they tend to stick to that recipe. Every once in awhile, it's good to experiment because you never know what you might find.

This is a good book for any cooking library.

I just have a small gas grill (Weber Q220), so I didn't know if I would get much from this cookbook. But it's great. It would be worth the price if all I learned was how to keep salmon from sticking to the grill (it really doesn't stick!). But the recipes are delicious. The rubs are especially good. I'd like to try everyone of them. I'm just getting started with this cookbook, but it's already made me a better cook. I'm going to send one to our kids who grill all the time.

The book itself is great and full of wonderful recipes and pictures. But the condition in which the book was delivered was terrible. The first one I received had deep scratches/indentations all over the cover and all the pages were "wavy" as if it got wet. One corner was bent because the Amazon cardboard box just barely fit and one corner was dinged, so I sent it back. The second one looked a little better, still some scratches on the cover and some numbers written on the underside of the pages. Same packaging that was definitely too small for this book. I still kept it because who knows how the next one would have looked...
