I grabbed this up while it was on sale for my daughter. This is a version without the color change vest, so no comment on that. As for Dora, there haven't been any problems with her head filling with water at all, she's dries off pretty easily. My daughter has a lot of fun bathing Dora and washing her up! She really adores this and it is the FIRST bath toy I have boughten her that she actually plays with. She's had boats, ducks, little mermaid and strawberry shortcake squeakies before, but she only ever liked playing with cups and a washclothe and bubbles. So I'm thrilled I finally found a toy she likes!
As for the twins in their floatie, she doesn't pay any attention to them, but as I said, she's pretty picky. They float okay about half the time, the other half they flip over because of the weight of their heads, which isn't balanced.
All in all though, for $6 and change, this was well worth the price for the fun she's getting out of it! |

| We've had this toy for about 10 months now. I have not noticed the problems with mold that other reviewers have mentioned. This toy is not perfect (Dora is top-heavy and Boots tends to tip over in the water) but it is something that my daughter enjoys every time she takes a bath. She particularly likes to take the flippers off Dora and put them back on and does pretend play with both characters. Recommended for any Dora fans. If your child is not a Dora fan, then it is nothing special. |

My son has had a thing for Dora since he was a year old. The tub toys were a birthday gift and he's bathed with them every night for over a year. They are darling for a boy or a girl and have held up very well.
Dora's lifejacket, pink flippers and Boots in his inner tube tend to get a little icky if you don't clean them once in a while.
To clean all plastic toys I generally soak them in a sink full of water with 1/4 Cup bleach to kill the mold/mildew. The boots toy needs to be squeezed to force bleach water in and out to ensure it gets clean-takes seconds to do. Then I throw all the toys in the dishwasher, without detergent, and run it. That'll get everything clean and kill the germs. You can always throw the toys out when they get yucky from tub or dry them out carefully after each use.
Your little ones will love bathing with Dora and Boots. We've loved them for almost 2 years and they're still in great shape. |

| my daughter recvd this for her birthday thinking she would love to play with this in the bathtub but she hardly even touches it!she plays with other bath toys over these. the only thing she likes to do to dora sometimes is put makeup on her face with her water crayons which wash right off, and don't even mention boots he is just nasty, nothing but nasty slimy mold growing inside i threw him away along time ago and my daughter still hasn't noticed! I try to get her to play with the dora at the pool but she just isn't having it, I'm surprised because she loves dora,but this just doesn't do it for her. |

| My daughter is 3 and loves this toy! We got it when she was 2 1/2 and she has not taken a bath without Dora and Boots since!!! The only problem we experienced is getting Dora's life jacket on. |

| This toy was one of the first in our collection of water toys and is still going strong! Purchased over a year and a half ago, my little boy will be three next month and he still loves to squirt both Dora and me with the Boots. The vest on the one I bought still changes colors when it gets wet and Doras head has not gotten water inside of it. The Boots did get moldy inside despite my best efforts to squeeze all the water out and allow to dry on its side. I now once a month fill the bathroom sink with hot water and add a capful or two of bleach and squeeze it in and out several times -- this works well for all his "squirtys". Also, we had an opportunity to ride in a friends boat and while all the other kids were screaming they didn't want a vest on, my son willingly jumped into his saying "I'm just like Dora Mommy"! |

| My daughter has had two of these. She loves Dora and this toy is great at the pool and in the tub. I also like that Dora has a life vest, it reminds my daughter that she needs her vest to get in the pool. I replaced one becasue of the mold and soap scum build up. |

| After a few weeks Dora's head was full of water that could not be removed and Boots was full of water that at times squirted out black slimy mold. We threw it away!!! Very cute but needs to be made waterproof if it is to be a bath toy. |

My 2 y/o daughter was absolutely exstatic that her favorite character could now join her in the tub and several months later, still plays with this set almost every bath!!! Both are made of very durable plastic and rubber and are a great large size making them easy for little hands to hold. Dora's head, arms, and waist are moveable, she stands alone when wearing her flippers, and her life-jacket changes color in warm water. Boots sits in his ring and can be squeezed to squirt water.
Please do NOT let the other reviews scare you away... This toy has had a permanent home in our tub for several months and I have NOT had any problem of water inside Dora. She has always been top-heavy in that the head is the heaviest part of her body, but I have shaken her over and over again and have NEVER had any water in her at all! Boots does hold water, but so do ALL squirting bath toys and it's the parent's responsibility to clean up/empty out such bath toys at the end of the bath to prevent mold/mildew.
I do agree with a few points... Dora's life-jacket is hard for a small child to take on/off, but my daughter has learned that if you put one of Dora's arms back, it's much easier. I do also wish she stood up without her flippers. Boots does float a little crooked, but I have 2 bags of bath toys and don't think any really float just right... they are just bath TOYS afterall.
Overall, considering the low price and months of play we have already gotten out of this, I consider it well worth it and lots of fun for any little Dora fan!! |
