I got this card game as a gift to my father because he thoroughly enjoys bidding card games such as Spades and Hearts. We all played it, and loved it (some more than others). While the game has an element of luck involved, there is a lot more strategy and thoughtfulness required. I am also a teacher, and have played the game with students at a middle school level and thought it was an excellent educational tool as well. I highly recommend this game!

Excellent game. I was playing the game on the Set Game website and enjoyed it, but playing with the physical cards along with friends adds much to the enjoyment. The quality is excellent and the instructions quite clear. In this game, you may think you have it all figured neatly, but it really isn't set until the last card is played. It challenges your powers of memory, reasoning, and logic.

I bought this item as a gift for Christmas and it was perfect for the guy. He's an avid card and game board player, and he enjoyed it a lot. It's rather complicated to start off with, but once you get into it, it can be a lot of fun. I love playing spades, hearts, and euchre so I wish I got one for myself as well! haha

There are small parts as it says in the description, so don't say they didn't tell you. :)

My fiancee and I are big card gamers. We love Quiddler and Five Crowns, so thought we'd try this one. Overall it's fun and challenging. However, occasionally it can be a little overwhelming and if one person playing "gets" how to bid a little better the result can be a very uneven playing field. We're getting there though!

We had a lot of fun playing Xactika. It sounded like it might be hard to pick up, but it was a breeze. It reminds me of spades, but with a more interesting strategic element to it. I highly recommend it.

Fascinating and fun game. The dynamics and strategies change a lot based on the number of people playing (up to 8 players). Takes playing a time or two to get the feel of the game, but well worth the effort. Good instructions, and a set of "helper" cards included so players can keep track of the probabilities (though they don't call them that). My only complaint is that the cards are a heavy paste board that doesn't wear very well if you play a lot (and we have been). Highly recommended game for those who like Wist, Hearts and the like.
