This is a beautifully made, well-insulated press. We've tried them all, went back to electric, then back to press. Only drawback is it only makes 4 cups of coffee at a time.

I love this coffee press. I have owned three others, all glass, all broke after a few uses. I love the fact that it is also a thermos.

After purchasing two different French presses, the stainless steel Frieling is the French press for my family. You get what you pay for and this is no exception. Look at this press - it stands in a category of its own simply based on looks. However, that's not all that counts. The thing works. We purchased ours for $65 with free shipping from clive.com (came with free coffee beans, too) in February of 2009. It is in daily use - sometimes several times a day. Some people have wondered about metallic taste - simply put, there is none. Some people have concerns about the noise that is made when pushing down the plunger - it doesn't bother me a bit. The fit is snug, but that is essential so no grounds come up. If you need replacement parts (we haven't needed any), they are available. The press does what it was made to do well and it looks good on top of that. You really can't improve on that.
Just yesterday I purchased another Frieling for my parents because they have been drooling over ours. Clive.com once again came through with the goods with very prompt delivery (and complimentary beans). I don't have any affiliation with them, but when I come across a place with good service, I'm all about giving a shout out. So - clive.com and Frieling French press = consistently good service and coffee.

Not only does it look good, but it's sturdy and makes a great cup of coffee. My only suggestion would be to make sure that your coffee is not ground too finely.

We got this after cracks developed for the 4th time in our Bodum Press. I don't see that being a problem any time soon with this product... cracks are more likely to form in me first! This alone was worth the (slightly too high?) price. I'll probably be leaving this to my daughter in our will :-)
Add to this the fact that it keeps the coffee steaming hot for probably a good 15-20 minutes.
Not yet had the problems with grounds-in-coffee that people have mentioned (which, btw, I *did* occasionally get with the bodum). The metal-on-metal sound is not nearly as bad as I feared.
The product is a winner in my books; I highly recommend it.

I have gone through numerous glass French presses. This one is great! No glass to break, easy to operate and easy to clean. I particularly like the finished edge to the screen. No more catching the screen on everything. It is heavy and durable. The coffee stays hot for a couple of hours. All in all, I am well pleased with the purchase. It makes great loose tea too.
