| I have owned this heater for a number of years now and have had no problems with it at all. Originally purchased to bring a guest room to a comfortable temperature for a guest, I have also used it to keep a greenhouse warm in sub-freezing temperatures and as a bathroom heater from time to time. This is not a heater to stand in front of to get a blast of heat. The way it circulates the air throughout the room keeps the ceiling level the same temperature as the floor level. No more hot head and cold feet! |

| This is a quiet little heater and is perfect for warming up one room. I use it on chilly mornings while reading the paper and drinking my coffee. This facilitates not having to turn on the heat for the whole house. It's an upgrade from the other Vornado heater, that is a little less expensive. That one's on/off lever failed on me after only one year. I got a refund from the store then bought this one online. |

"Delightfully warm, takes up little space" | 2008-03-24 |

It's no surprise to me that Vornado heaters are good, their fans are the best. This little heater can warm up a room in no time. Plus, it's quiet, takes up little space, and is pretty safe.
I've shut off the vent for the heat pump in my office and use just this heater instead. The air's warmer than what the heat pump provides and I can get warm. We've tried another brand of heater and it just doesn't work as well.
If the Vornado fans we bought several years ago are any indication, I think we'll probably have this heater for many years to come. The fans have held up well and remain efficient and very economical. |

"Great quiet heater - better than the other Vornado model" | 2008-03-02 |

I have purchased several of the cheaper model Vornado heaters (AVH2). These heaters always did a great job heating the room, but they made this loud buzzing sound - sort of like an electrical substation.
I assumed the only difference between this model and the AVH2 was the digital display. But no, this model is MUCH MUCH quieter! The buzzing sound is barely audible. Do yourself a favor - if you do buy a Vornado heater, spend the extra couple of bucks and buy this one. It ended up costing me only $7.00 more than the AVH2, but the difference in the noise level is worth every penny.... |

| This product has saved us this winter. Our heat often goes out, and living in New York City in the winter, that makes it pretty darn cold. The temperature setting function is great, and would recommend this model over the one that doesn't have one (it's also a great way to check out what temp the room is starting at before you turn it on). Recommend closing as many doors as possible to help it heat up the space, obviously works better and quicker in smaller spaces. We love it! |

| When I first got this space heater almost a year ago, I would have given it 5 stars, but I've noticed that it sometimes blows cool air at my legs, even though I never change the setting. It seems to me that a space "heater" should never cool, just heat, even if the thermostat wants to turn off the heat at that point. But the heater looks nice and generally works fine. |

I've owned my Vornado for about a year and a half. I've already had to return it once because the on/off switch stopped functioning (not damaged, just stopped working). Paid Vornado $45 for the repair.
Recently, the fan has started getting much louder to where I really can't run it at night and still sleep. I'm either looking at another $45 repair or tossing it and buying a new heater. If I do replace, it likely won't be with another Vornado. |

"It's OK but a previous model is better" | 2008-01-29 |

I have an 8-year old BVH model Vornado that is still going strong, and needed another for another room, so I bought this DVH model. I'll keep it, but it is a let down. Here's why. The BVH model had a thermostat control that continuously varies heat and fan speed to maintain temperature. The DVH, however, cycles abruptly between high and low to maintain temperature. Plus, when it cycles to low, there is an annoying 60-cycle buzz, such as you might hear from a transformer. I have my doubts about the usefulness of the digital display -- with the heat and vibration, I expect the display will be the first part to fail in a year or so.
It's OK and I'll keep it, but I would rather have another BVH, and think it is no longer made. Both models do, indeed, distribute heat in a room more evenly than those radiator-style electric heaters or small heaters that have a small, loud, fan. |

holy crap.... is this a heater or a grade A noise machine (not the good kind)? just got home with this little devil ($100 lighter) and after reading all of the instructions i plugged it in to begin heating. well,...it actually seems to be heating just fine, BUT it is making a terrible buzzing noise, the little squeaky kind of buzzing that almost seems like it should only be heard by dogs or something. unfortunately for us, that is not the case.
i give this an F unless their objective was to put my child in an insane asylum at an early age.
i'll take it back, of course, and we'll be no worse for wear, but don't waste your time as i did. i read another review mentioning this buzzing and ignored it as it was the only review that did so. however, my experience was exactly the same. |
