| Drips terrible when you pour, the glass viewing piece that shows the water levels leaks. I don't recommend this one. It's the second one I had, and I just think they are lousy. Wish I had not bought this one. Hard to set the times and clock as well.I'd return it if I could. |

I pretty much agree with M. Frobisher and M. Larson, except for some of the programming problems, which Krups may have fixed without making it clear by a sub-model number change (if so, yet another indication of the brand's demise...).
The current (January 2008) model does allow more control of programming than is apparent in the reviews a year or two old. Unless I press "PROG" the night before, the clock icon does not appear on the display and the auto-function doesn't start the next morning. It DOES force me to do multiple keypresses to confirm the programming each time I want to set it to make coffee next morning, unlike the old ProAroma, which just required one keypress and had a nice green light you could see two rooms away, instead of a tiny clock icon you have to squint to see.
I think I'm gonna have to make lines with a sharpie on the inside of the water reservoir for the usual amounts of coffee I make, because of the already-mentioned propensity of the water level indicator to develop air bubbles - HIGHLY ANNOYING! I've tried pouring slowly, fast, in different locations in the reservoir - none of that makes any difference.
I also mourn the demise of the removable lid from the carafe, and the old band-attached handle - I'm expecting the latter to detach itself sooner rather than later, if the thinner glass doesn't break first.
I would maybe have rated this thing two stars, but for the contrast to the old ProAroma, and the disappointment I'm feeling in comparison.
If I run into another cone-filter (as opposed to flat, Mr. Coffee-type filter) machine that seems better, I may just chalk this thing up to sad experience and get rid of it. |

This is my fourth Krups coffemaker in 20 years. The first was a 10-cupper that was a wedding gift and it soldiered on for 12 years. Upon its demise, a new Krups 12 cup unit with a built-in clock filled its countertop spot. About four years into its service it died without a blink or a peep. Krups replaced that one because it had been recalled, so I was happy. That one worked until recently. Hence, we purchased this most current Krups. I give it two years max. The carafe is made of the thinnest glass imaginable. The lid is hinged with these tiny soon-to-be-broken plastic tips, and it does not stay open unassisted. The water-level indicator is useless as it fills with equal amounts of water and air bubbles. The shape of the carafe is such that as you are pouring out the last bit of its delicious coffee your knuckles are scalded with hot coffee vapor.
Krups used to be the BMW of the small appliance world -- intelligently and over engineered German stuff that worked extremely well, lasted a long time, and looked cool. For that you paid a healthy premium over what you would have paid Mr. Coffee or Ms. Proctor Silex. You couldn't find this stuff in the various X-Marts, no, you had to go to Macy's (later, Amazon). Now, Macy's is phasing them out and they are probably made in the same Sino-Walmart lowest-bidder factories as the lead-coated Barbies and Thomas the Tank Engine geegaws. But, they are still priced higher than a Mr. Coffee!
Krups, sorry to see you go. Bean counted to irrelevance. |

| This is a great buy and I like the looks of it on my counter. We have one in yellow for tea also. I never use the auto because it is too confusing. The bells are okay not bothersome. No trouble with the handle either. The yellow one does have an extra band to go around with the handle. |

| I purchased this to replace my old Krups. Almost every time I add water, I get air bubbles in the water level glass. This is certainly not as well made as my last two Krups coffee makers. |

Bought this coffeemaker to replace a previous model that was about 6 years old. The FME2-12 was a huge disappointment and I have returned it. Everything about this coffeepot was lighter weight and very flimsy compared to the older model. The carafe on this model (which is the same as most other Krups models) was made of such thin glass that it is at risk to crack or break every time one handles it.
I ordered a comparable Braun unit and found it to be much more substantial. From what I have seen most other brands, including Mr. Coffee, are better made then the present line of Krups products. |

| I have purchased Krups coffeemakers for years because I have always found them to be reliable and durable. This latest model looks like a winner. The glass carafe is made of thinner, more elegant glass than my previous model - hope it holds up as well. A couple of little things disturb me. One is that the lid attaches to the carafe by two small rubbery/plastic projections that fit into small holes in the handle of the carafe. If one of these projections breaks off, I don't think the lid will stay on right. The second thing is that the carafe is now shaped so that it is smaller at the top than at the bottom. When you go to pour out the last of the coffee, the steam escapes onto your hand - ouch! My old carafe was straight-sided and poured out all the coffee without burning your hand. The shape of the new carafe is more pleasing to look at, but it does have this downside. All in all, I am very pleased with the unit and it makes a handsome addition to my kitchen. The price at Amazon cannot be beat, especially with free shipping! |

| It's a nice size pot 12 cup, the lid is stain resistant, unlike the previous krups model I had. It brews a bit slower than the last, but not unreasonably slow. Great value for the price. |

I like this coffeemaker ALOT!!
My first one had develpoped an air bubble, that I treated for a couple of months (it was a good way to clean the coffeeepot also), it successfully went away for months (in fact, I was definitely sure it was gone for good,then it was back again)..., well, decided to get the one I have now!! It's now here at home, on standby, for when the other one acts up!! Even though I'm telling you the air-bubble problem..., I still like this coffeemaker, & will STAY with Krups coffeemakers!!
