Want to speed up your cooking time and save energy at the same time? With Fagor's Duo pressure cooker, you can do both. By using this pressure cooker to prepare anything from risotto to roasts to savory stews, you'll reduce your cooking time by one-third and your energy use by 70 percent! A pressure cooker is a wonderful resource for canning and simmering stocks, too. The spring-type mechanism in a dial format can be moved from one setting to another without changing valves: high (15 psi) and low (8 psi). Unlike pressure cookers of the past, you'll never experience noisy steam escaping or mushy food. Most important is that you can cook high-fiber, low-fat foods in record time while preserving essential vitamins and nutrients - and conserving energy, too! The 18/10 stainless surface won't interact with food. The duo pressure cooker has a triple-safety mechanism and pressure control valves plus two independent over-pressure release valves. The handle has a safety lock. The pressure cooker comes with a steamer basket, trivet and recipe book.

|I have been cooking for a long time and I don't know why I never tried a pressure cooker. I made a pot of chicken soup in 20 min. from start to finish. I could not tell that it had not cooked for hours, simmering on the stove. This Fagor cooker was really easy to use too.
My 76 yr. old mother came over for dinner and cooked with me and we made a roast complete with vegies in this pressure cooker and now my mom wants one for herself. She said she was afraid of pressure cookers before using this one.
I would highly recommend this pressure cooker. As a matter of fact, I am going to get the Fagor pressure canning set next.

|I must be one of the lucky ones who actually received the product I ordered. I've been researching pressure cookers for a while and I've found this model to be top of the line of second level pressure cookers. The first line being Kuhn Rikon, WMF, Fissler and similar models. I've done mostly stocks, bolognese, and baked beans so far and have not had any difficulty. The aluminum disk at the bottom aids browning. Pressure cooking is safe if you know what you're doing so make sure you read the instruction manual and make sure you hit Miss Vickies website for recipes and additional safety information.|

|I purchased the Fagor Duo 8-Quart Pressure Cooker on the recommendation of a friend I respect. I made a glorious stew the first time I used it. The second time, I tried to make rice, using the instructions in the booklet. I sat next to the stove, timing how long it would take to come to pressure (information I insert in recipes). I waited and waited. Turns out the orange pressure indicator had melted. This, on the second use of the cooker.
I called the 1-800 number listed in the booklet that comes with the pressure cooker. When I told my story to the woman who answered, she said she'd send me a new part (to replace the part requires disassembling the handle using a Philips Head screw driver) as a one time courtesy. From now on, I'd have to purchase a replacement part.
I said, What about the ten-year warranty. She said that was only on the metal parts of the pressure cooker, not on the handle, not on the pressure indicator. Having a ten-year warranty for metal is like having a ten-year warranty for a rock -- it's a relatively useless warranty.
The first woman I spoke to suggested that it was my fault -- that I'd had the flame beneath the pot on too high. I have a gas stove, and their instructions say to place the cooker over high heat. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She had the same story -- handle, etc., not under warranty. She said this doesn't happen very often. But it happened to me the second time I used the pot, following their directions.
Good customer service? Maybe. If I was running the show, I would have asked me to send back the pot so their engineers could determine if it malfunctioned. I would have sent me a new pot. But no.... So, buyer beware.

|Heavy duty pan, food cooked in it has been excellent. It may become my favorite kitchen pot/pan. I feel very safe using it as it has good safety features. Time saving is a very big factor and food comes out so tender and tasty|

|I am pleased with my new stainless pressure cooker. It was delivered as ordered. However the gasket was cracked on purchase. Gasket is working. I plan to purchase a new one to be on the safe side.|
