Handle will get hot. Stainless is lighter weight. They don't make them like they used to.

3 Star Rating  ""China Thin" The World at Large"
- Reviewed By An Amazon User from S. Calif.
The thin weight stainless steel and copper for the Revere kettles is a new composite, since the kettles were last made in Korea about 12 yrs. ago. Korea did an excellent job of making a USA product overseas. Perfect.

Then Taiwan stepped in and still an excellent quality, heavy-weight kettle was produced.

Then China became the smokestack of the world. China provided the techno to create an engineered year-long-life expectancy of many products.
The weakest link in China's tea kettle would be the seam between the copper bottom and stainless shell (because of the two non-similar metals flexing under heat). Normally the heat and cooling stresses would not affect the heavier weight metal sheeting, as the crimp strength of the seam would over-ride the flex and contract efforts.

I ordered by mistake the 3-1/2 qt. (monster) because it "looked" like the the 2-1/2 qt. size, so I reordered. I've read the leak review's and all negative reviews to arrive at the conclusion, that their complaints are well founded.

I'll receive our thin-metal "China copy" of the Revere (in name only, now though), unwrap our purchase and use it till it kacks, I guess.

But, I'm keeping our Revere "Korean beater-kettle" and submerge it in "Lime Away" for a while to try and revive it, for when the China Revere splits a seam. Oh boy.

This 2010 copy is the same quality as it's always been (each years production and P. Revere - 1801 trademark is stamped into the copper bottom).

5 Star Rating  "Best Tea Kettle Ever Made"
- Reviewed By An Amazon User
After looking for over 3 months, I finally found the right tea kettle to once again adorn the top of my stove. Beautifully designed to match the old one. Easy to keep clean and shiny too. Other kettles don't even hold a candle to this one as the balance and safe handle is the best on the market.

4 Star Rating  "It works well"

A little thinner on the bottom than the old classic Revere ware, but it heats quickly and whistles easily.

5 Star Rating  "Cooking with gas!"

I have been using this same model Revere tea kettle for years. Whenever one wears out (usually due to my own carelessness, not because of the kettle), I replace it with the exact same one. Does that speak for itself!
