-These masterfully handle low frequencies.
-The frame is metal and flexes easily.
-The earpieces fit entirely over the ear.
-They provide reasonable external noise isolation.
-The fold-up design and included leather bag are great.

I bought these headphones after testing out a pair of Sennheiser HDs costing nearly 100 dollars more. And damn I'm happy with the choice- the sound quality, warmth, and responsive bass is unparalleled. For the driver size, they leak surprisingly little, especially compared to the Sennheisers.

The only two problems I could forsee with these headphones would be the professional, minimalist design. However, I bought headphones to listen to music, not look fashionable. The other would be the cord- the heavy insulation is excellent, but it seems to transmit impact noises with gusto. Walking with these on would not be recommended.

Overall, one of my best purchases I've ever made, and have no regrets.

I have used these phones for more than 10 years for professional field video production. They are quite comparable to the consumer version, the MDR-V600.

These are an over-the-ear headphone, meaning that they fit around the ears without touching them - they sit on your head but not on the ears, which means that your ears don't get sore. This also acoustically isolates you from your environment, which can be great or bad..if you need to hear what's around you for safety. If you sweat heavily, they also tend to trap moisture.

Sound reproduction is excellent and full-range, and due to the acoustic isolation of the phones, you will hear well and you won't hear much of what's going on around you outside the phones. They do slightly emphasize bass in comparison to other frequencies, but that's something that most people don't mind.

The screw-on 1/4" tip screws off to reveal a 1/8" stereo plug, so the phones work with most playback devices. I highly recommend them as durable, acoustically excellent workhorses that you will use for many years.

ibought a pair of headphones for 20 dollars like these before, but they wern't nearly as good in sound quality. I can plug it into my amp, my computer, my tv, my ipod ( although I would advise against it because it rapes the battery like miche...nvm) the point is these are very nice and the only problem i've had is the cushion slipping off from one of the sides from tampering.
