The Fuse a decent multitool, but there's too much friction opening the blades, tools, and pliers. Over time, it might loosen up, but out of the box it's awkward to use.

The Wave has better build quality and is easier to work. We purchased the Fuse as a gift for 10-year-old beginning fisherman and had to exchange it for a Wave so he could safely open and close the blades.

I'm enjoying using my Leatherman Fuse very much. If I were a tradesman I might go for a heavier model that has a few more tools on it, but it works great for my purposes. I do wish the sheath was a little higher quality, but that's a small down side.

This is a handy little tool when my husband carries it. Fairly light, has all the features you might need in a pinch. A nice gift for the hunter, fisherman, boater, etc. I bought this to replace the Leatherman TI that was too heavy to carry comfortably on a belt.

I like the locking components. I've had cheaper tools that didn't lock & had some close calls when the knife or saw/file collapsed.

Good Tool for lighter work; needs a diamond file with groove like the PST II had. Sheath is another story; Customer Service from Leatherman Tool Group seems not to care much about the "el cheapo" sheath - just the "way it is" when contacted about it.

A neighbor's son is a US Marine and requested a Leatherman for his upcoming second tour in Iraq. He stipulated it should be inexpensive as well. I ordered two Fuses, one for him and one for me, on the reccommendation of a previous review by a US Army sargeant.

I can understand why these tools are so beloved. I've only had this little device for a few days but I REALLY like it. It folds to a compact size, is reasonably durable, and has a huge number of tools contained within its frame. Its essentially a tool box on my belt. It has a place with my wallet, eye glasses, and keys.

#1 upside: I have large hands and the handle is just right for me. The grips are perfect as well, non slip without being sticky. Definitely engineered in America for Americans.

#1 downside: Sometimes you need to manuever around the wire cutters in the jaws of the pliers to grip a bolt. To me, it was a bit tricky at first, but that should be the worst thing about this fantastic little device.
