| The hook is solid enough to handle your weight with only one hook, just tried it. If you plan to use it often, get two. It works well on my fairly steep metal roof but think a shallow roof might feel less safe but if you have a shallow roof, won't need a ladder hook in the first place. Need something to protect your roof surface, especially a painted metal roof. |

I recently purchased two Qual-Craft ladder hooks, with wheels from Amazon and used them this morning to make a couple of minor repairs to my roof. As stated by other reviewers, the feel was both solid and secure, and there was no damage to my roof as a result of using them. I agree that they make the ladder heavy, but the weight can work to your advantage in repositioning the ladder around on the roof. Be careful though, a small amount of angle to get the wheels rolling can get the ladder moving pretty quickly to a new position, which could result in losing control. Start slow and you will get the hang of it.
These hooks are built to very high quality standards, hence the weight. They are easy to mount and the superb information shared by all the reviewers on this page was extremely helpful...thank you! In my opinion, this product receives 5 stars for quality, utility, safety, and cost. However, I admit that I was also experienced the same confussion with the ordering information as expressed in some of the reviews. I couldn't agree more....these hooks should only be sold in pairs! Like shoes, that's the way they are intended to be used and should only be sold that way. |

| In looking at one of the reviews for the ladder hook, it said these were sold as a pair. It is not, so you will need to order two. I really do not know why these are NOT sold as a pair, since it clearly says in the instructions to use two hooks. |

| This product is made from mild steel bar stock and about doubles the weight of a 12' aluminum ladder. Had to use a hammer to get the "T" angle iron on the hook to rotate to it's "in use" position. The metal wasn't prepped properly and the paint started falling off day 1. I put 2-3 layers of duct tape on the brackets that touch the roof. Rounding the edges of these angle iron pieces would be a good idea. On a metal or tile roof, I would consider this a must. The wing nuts come loose so I put a standard hex nut on the bolt also to jam the wing nut to. Be careful when pushing the ladder up the roof. The extra weight of the hooks makes the ladder a handful. Bottom line, they work, they ain't pretty, and I would suggest rounding the angle iron hook pads before use. I drilled out the straps to lighten the hooks. The structural strength of the hooks is about 10 times that of the ladder. Fixed wheels would be an improvement in my opinion. |

"Not a pair" | 2007-01-03 |

| This product would be great, if, they came as a pair of hooks with wheels. As it comes, however, as a single item, it is not adequate to move a ladder by itself. The cost, which is not insignificant, indicated to me that I would receive a pair of hook and wheels, and a review from a subscriber blatantly told the readers that they came in pairs. That was why I ordered a set, I thought. I returned mine. |
